  1. We need the right sided player to be a bit different and have a bit guile, all in on this lad we don’t need anymore speed merchants, we need some technically gifted players who can create and look after the ball better.
  2. He also mentioned Gruda which then Will jumped on, though he claims he hasn’t listened to the podcast yet.

Anything to piss off Edwards - Newcastle close to signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace in £60m deal Exclusive: Transfer talks have not yet concluded but the move for England international is on course to be confirmed before the weekend Luke Edwards, Northern Football Writer5 August 2024 • 6:09pm Newcastle United are close to finalising a deal to sign England international Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace for a fee well in excess of £60 million. Talks between the two clubs have progressed well over the last few days and there is confidence on both sides that an agreement will be reached. Newcastle have not baulked at the asking price quoted by the London club and personal terms will also not be a problem. The signing would be a huge coup for Newcastle given how high Guehi’s stock has risen following an excellent European Championship campaign. He could well cement his place as one of England’s two first choice centre backs building up to the World Cup in 2026. Newcastle have not signed an established England international since they landed Kieran Trippier back in 2022, but he was entering the twilight of his career when he arrived from Atletico Madrid whereas Guehi’s best years are ahead of him. The 24-year-old had already proven himself to be one of the best centre backs in the Premier League but his game was elevated to another level during the Euros when he was arguably England’s most consistent player. Telegraph Sport understands that while the transfer talks have not yet concluded the move is on course to be confirmed before the weekend. Newcastle had made the signing of another centre back one of their top priorities this summer and to land a player as well regarded as Guehi is further evidence of the club’s growth since the takeover by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund in October 2021. Crucially, Guehi is said to be very keen on the move and has urged his representatives to make the deal happen. Until the contracts are signed there is always a risk of a rival bid coming in but as things stand, it looks like Guehi will be swapping south east London for the north east of England His departure would be a huge blow to Palace but the club are also willing to listen to the player’s wishes and the fee is a large one for a defender in a largely depressed summer market. It remains to be seen whether Newcastle still have the funds to address their other major need in this window which is a right-sided forward. It could be that the Magpies have to wait to see if there are any outgoings before moving for one of their right wing targets later in the window. The Guehi transfer has been the main focus for the last week and it will be a real statement of intent if sporting director Paul Mitchell can complete it.
  4. Flight and a guaranteed ticket for the match twice a month should boost sales, sure DFDS had access to tickets for a while under the fat cunt.
  5. Wouldn’t reflect very well on Staveley and Ashworth if they’ve fucked up with the contract and left us with no option but to sell him at this point.

Possibly would seem a big gap in experience to the like of Guehi though for it to be him.

Good to know where covering all bases as have a feeling Palace will be difficult sellers. Would be very happy with an alternative such as the Leverkusen CB, Diomande, or even take a punt on Silva when his stock has fallen.
  8. Intriguingly, other defensive targets exist. iunderstands there have been talks on another centre-back in the last week and they could be running parallel with the Guehi negotiations. They retain interest in Malick Thiaw of Milan and while Guehi feels like the ultimate prize, don’t rule out a surprise target emerging https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle-transfers-guehi-gordon-osula-3208669
  9. Far as I’m aware the City Group own it alongside an American music group, the new arena has definitely ground to a halt due to soaring costs, could be a great opportunity for PIF to step in.
  10. With this new arena down the quayside running into financial problems, would surely be an avenue for PIF to explore and maybe step in. Would be an excellent revenue stream for the club potentially and I’m sure they could build something even grander than originally proposed. Clearly in early days of their ownership, but would really like some plans for infrastructure investment in the city which would be a lasting legacy.
  11. Wouldn’t even bother seeking planning permission for bottom left if they stuck that in Leazes Park nee one would notice.

It won’t be much more then 50 considering Olise went for just over that.

Looks a good player this kid tall, strong, quick and seems to have good movement. No guarantee’s with young strikers especially when you look at likes of Brewster at Liverpool who looked the next big thing, but would imagine he was quite protected last season by Wilder due to their position and how uncompetitive they we’re, hence lack of 1st team appearances and goals.

Looks a goer none of the big boys seem interested and Chelsea couldn’t match Bayern earlier in the summer for Olise, very confident this will happen providing we can agree fee.
  15. This lad isn’t the answer very marked difference between him and Gordon in potential. In my opinion we do need something different on the right and most wingers have their flaws, but don’t see anywhere near the work ethic Howe requires in his wide men with Madueke.
  16. Far better player than Declan Rice for a fraction of the price great business unfortunately.
  17. I’m the opposite think Staveley was a big champion of remaining at SJP, i think any sentiment will now be out the window and it will be whatever makes commercial sense. Yes there’ll be a consultation on the face of it, but think facts will be presented heavily in favour of moving when the time comes. It’s then up to the Council and Freemen to make sure club remain in city centre with a viable option.
  18. Shame arena site had potential to be spectacular and would have been easiest option as brownfield site.
  19. Think Gallagher is massively overrated and will need to improve with his use of the ball to be any kind of success in La Liga.
  20. Let’s hope Eales deserves the trust put in him and delivers, huge shoes to fill and despite her lack of experience still seems to have been doing a lot of the work right up to her exit.
  21. It sounds very mutual and she clearly is still on great terms with PIF and Reuben’s. The only part that is slightly contradictory is that she indicates they‘d still like to be involved in the day to day running of a club. She seems to suggest that Yasir wanted her to be CEO, but she thought a football person was better suited in Eales. We also have to remember that they had a rolling management contract and if we have appointed all these execs, she’s right it wouldn’t be fair for them to be interfering and taking money out of the club for no reason. Got to say jury is out on Eales for me and Amanda should have backed herself to be the CEO and she may have still been here, her interview suggests that might be a possible regret in hindsight, though the elephant in the room is clearly the big pay out they’ll just have received for their shares before they were diluted further.
  22. I hope your feeling is wrong, we need a top drawer RW this summer as Barnes will be an impact sub next season for Gordon, if we don’t it will be Murphy on the right as per last season.

  24. Torres was wanted when Owen Brown and the Scottish scout name escapes me were advising Staveley, wishful thinking from Barcelona here. Great player though and exactly the profile we should be looking for on the right.
  25. Wise up they fucking hate us and revelled when we got relegated, why any self respecting Mag would want anything good to happen to this lot beggars belief absolute backward cunts.
