Great to see Yasir and club acknowledge them, actually feel really sad about this not often you get people involved with clubs these days who just get it and you feel in safe hands with. Think we’ll hear from them maybe via an interview with Caulkin in due course, but they owe us nothing and wish them nothing but the best.

I really don’t think there’s anything mysterious or underhand gone on here, her relationship with PIF will be strong as ever, by all accounts she helped them strike a deal with US PGA tour and has already helped them double their investment with us. The announcement will come and it’ll acknowledge everything she has done for the club. It’s already established she can’t keep up with the investment required and though she had a rolling management contract, they’ll all be aware that to employ the level of people they have their role now becomes diminished. The loss here is the connection they’ve established with community and the fact they’ve been the face of new ownership. The club undoubtedly felt in safe hands with them involved, however maybe they just think their work is now done, they’re London/Dubai based and they want to pursue over business opportunities possibly even working with PIF again.

Just my opinion unless our income stream increases it’s going to be very difficult to challenge consistently and they’ll know that.

After our well publicised PSR struggles, rejig of boardroom and upcoming summit this weekend fully expect a big announcement soon in relation to sponsorship, think PIF are about to take us to firmly into phase 2.
-
Clearly that would have been a nightmare scenario, but do think there’s real dangers ahead if the decision making process is as laborious as being painted and they were undoubtedly good people with the clubs best interests at heart, not so sure I’d say the same of Eales and Silverstone.
-
Good read and highlights the glaring areas where they will be missed, the hope has to be that PIF become more hands on, but does concern that Eales has found it difficult to deal with PIF’s processes as below - ‘They always thought of themselves as custodians, with Ghodoussi putting forward the case for Newcastle’s difference and arguing against ticket price rises. Without Staveley and Ghodoussi — good and natural communicators who, like Eales and Ashworth, found it difficult to wade beyond PIF’s “processes” to communicate regularly — Newcastle automatically becomes a less protected, less personal, less emotional, less connected place, where you simply trust everything will turn out all right. But in turn, Staveley and Ghodoussi offered a layer of protection to PIF and that has now gone, too.’

Sad day, undoubtedly the human face of the club and the tenacity she showed to rid us of the parasite will never be forgotten in this city. Think we’d already seen though that Eales and Silverstone have assumed running of the business side and bar giving her a non executive role, I suspect they’ve thought the time is right for them to concentrate on other things as the day to day running of the club now takes care of itself. Her and husband will always be warmly welcomed and hopefully she is there when we finally lift that first trophy.

Yes training ground.

Landlord has put Tyneview Park in Benton up for sale, current tenants are DWP but lease runs out in 2027, be interesting to see if club go for the land, new housing estates don’t make it ideal but right next door to current training ground and academy.

I think Ashworth comes across as an FA type man the kind who would think Southgate would be a good appointment, don’t think he seems that savvy in nitty gritty of negotiating transfers either, hopefully our structures are now in place regarding departments which he does seem good at and why the senile old Salford rat wanted him so badly.

Sell Wilson get the next big thing from the red bulll production line Karim Konate in.
-
Need to be ruthless and refresh the squad maximising any value left in all 3 of them.
-
The 3rd strip is nice but the trefoil would have elevated it further.
-
Rafa never bloody picked him during the run in even when we were safe, no wonder he wanted to fuck off.
-
Clearly off to join Ashworth at the Mancs, unfortunately they’re assembling a very good team off the pitch and making us look like a right bunch of plodders in comparison. Feels like club has stagnated slightly in recent months, would like to see some positive moves off the pitch this summer and some clear direction of travel.

Nee chance where signing that plank we’ve got money to spend and think we’ll make 3 big splashes. Thiaw Ederson Gibbs-White Delighted with first 2 but would prefer someone with a bit more craft/guile on the right if honest. Wilson staying and we’ll have to make do with the dodgy Greek back up in nets, but stay injury free and good enough to challenge for top 4.
-
After the PSR debacle you could put money on McTominay being linked again.
-
Quite possibly by all accounts they tried to offload Almiron in January, but once he decided he didn’t want to go to Saudi we should probably have accepted the Bayern bid for Trippier in hindsight, regardless hopefully we’ve learned from it and don’t find ourselves sailing this close to wind again with a few days to spare.
-
I’m not impressed by this and looks like we’ve been luckily bailed out due to Minteh coming good, otherwise it would have been a demoralising sale which would have set us back. Clearly though we’ve been under the cosh since having to go all in that first January to stay in the league and I suspect we have sponsors held up by the PL we’ve been relying on. Hopefully, never find ourselves in this position again as could have got very messy if one of the big stars had to be sacrificed this weekend, yeah we will have to trade going forward but leaving it this late left us wide open to vultures and being low balled.

Yankuba Minteh (now playing for Brighton & Hove Albion)

Nee idea to be fair just seems they’ve had a lot of success with younger players they’ve brought in. -
Not sure what he means by Minteh to Forest unless it’s a typo, or I’ve missed that one today.
-
Caulkin reporting the same.

I’d love this to be true but the fact Brighton want him makes me think he ticks all the boxes as they’re big on analytics. -
Absolutely gobsmacked we found ourselves scrambling aground like this at last minute, if Minteh hadn’t come good we could have been flogging Isak, or Gordon at cut price this weekend to Chelsea and Liverpool which would have been sickening. Be interesting to see what filters out over next few days in press, expecting some serious PR from the club as this hasn’t been a good look at all.
