  1. He’s a smug twat that hates Newcastle but conceals it with a sort of strained benignity in his tone. Another one on there happy to ditch any objectivity when it comes to us and just outright talk about wanting our opponents to win.

    St James' Park

Craig Hope has changed his mind, this is huge.
  3. It’s difficult to articulate but it does sometimes feel like Howe has, not hijacked…but used our takeover to his own advantage. Meaning that he acted as though the upward momentum was because of him and that he and his good (if not spectacular) management was not, as it actually was, a symptom of the cub’s changing direction instead of a driving force. Put another way: Where would he be if we still had Ashley but Howe as well? Probably about where we were.
  4. I would personally rather we gave the money to somebody else to spend
  5. Any chance any of his relatives work as a set piece coach?
  6. I have said before on here that I would make it a rule that away fans are housed behind one of the goals at every ground. It improves atmospheres and looks brilliant.
  7. My memory of that is that they filmed the dressing room rise to applaud him, which at the time struck me as painfully patronising. Even now I wonder how he took it.
  8. Be good if they just fucked off honestly. Everybody on here could get tickets to the match for one thing
  9. Mate, the bloke is a murderer. There’s going to be serious journalists all across the world with stories about him. We need to be big boys and girls about it because the idea that it’s done to unsettle a football club in the north of England is wilfully stupid.
  10. Nice bit of sexism. Why weren’t you there, out of interest?
  11. Is this true? They were heading down with Gerrard in the season we qualified for the champions’ league
  12. Just feels like Aston Villa have stolen our narrative.
  13. Last year, I had sympathy with the line, ‘What team could cope with an injury list like this?’ That’s obvious. Going to be harder for me to agree with the line (said by a few), ‘What team could cope with as many players out of form as ours at the minute?’ That’s directly on Howe, I’m afraid.

Without being soppy, after years away I now walk into work over the Tyne Bridge and as a skyline and a city, Newcastle is fucking mint. I love the golden hue that seems to centre on SJP.
  15. Have a spare for this in the standing corner. Let me know if you’re interested edit: gone now
  16. Man City 95 in the cup, my first ever game and live on Sky, would be a treat
  17. I’m not watching that but how’s he got tickets in the away end?

Absolutely none of that chimes with any of my experiences, but okay. The wor flags folk presumably are season ticket holder aren’t they? And, besides, there’s people in the world who are….falsely claiming to be behind flag displays in football grounds? Really? Are you sure?

The thing is, every match thread on here is full of moaning ninnies. Are these the same people that, were they in the ground, would be singing their hearts out for ninety minutes? That doesn’t particularly track for me.

Can somebody remind me why season ticket holders are so loathed on this forum?

I’ve noticed this about the Ginola goal at Spurs in 95. Firstly, it’s strange to see loads of empty seats, but also we’re all sat as he scores. Likewise Watson’s at Anfield. I have always wondered why. I hate to give them credit for anything fan culture but was it Man Utd’s away support that kind of invented standing for ninety minutes at away games (in all seater stadiums). I’m a bit too young to remember the 90s but that’s how it appears.

No, it’s nonsense, are you basing it on tonight? Tonight was the single most dull game of football I can ever remember (I’m sure I’ve seen duller, but you know). No club in the entire premier would have had anything other than a painfully bored and quiet crowd.
