The daft fucker needs to compare gates from the same era of time and not nearly 30 years later, when all gates have increased. They keep bringing the larger population despite the two cities being only fucking 14 miles apart. Typical mackems trying to distort or usually lie about stuff to make a point. Bit like when they keep mentioning Ashley giving 10,000 tickets away, conveniently ignoring that the actual average up to that point was 46,000. When it comes to comparing attendances, they are a distant second best.

The daft fuckers were trying to convince themselves that if you're not born in Newcastle then you're not a Geordie a few weeks ago

The best one is when there is engineering work on the Metro, some of them always bang on about it's only when they have home games and never when we do. They still spout this shite even when some of their own supporters point out that this is rubbish

When is the player/manager/goal of the month announced is it usually on a Thursday or a Friday?
-
The fact he is only 22 and that all aspects of his game will in all probability improve is quite scary
-
Yeah I think they will probably finish upper mid table. I've been quite shocked how poor the standard of the championship is this year as it's usually half decent. The gap between the Championship and Premier League is widening. The majority of promoted teams are ones who have been relegated and have the advantage of premiership money.

25 pages on a fucking U23 game

Burn left back playing allows Trippier more freedom to get up the wind as Burn steps into a back 3 when the ball is on the right hand side (I know you will see that also). I think Howe's thinking on playing Joelington on the left hand side is to give him a bit more protection, when the ball is on the left hand side. If Max comes back into the team, then we may see Targett return. I actually think in the summer a top level left back will be bought.

Southampton vs. Newcastle United - 6/11/22 @ 2pm (Sky Sports)
et tu brute replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
Not sure about this game as Southampton can at times look decent (Arsenal and Chelsea), but mainly look poor. If we play to our current form, I'm pretty confident we will win. I like Joelington's physical presence in midfield for away games and we will miss that. Still nervous about games like this even with our form in the last year. -
He not be going anywhere within at least the next two and a half seasons unless there is a totally outrageous offer made. He and his family are totally loving it and he is getting untold support and encouragement from all areas. Media scare mongering by media sources uncomfortable with the rise of our club will be aplenty from now on.
-
They are our rivals, hate the cunts and the gap in terms of actual competition between the clubs is widening daily, but they're still our main rivals and always will be. I'm retired now, but my workplace had a few mackems (who in the main were good lads) and the banter was decent apart from four day period around the derby match, when they would turn into demented aggressive demons. I was gone before the takeover, but I would imagine that four day period of total personality change for those two games, will now be a daily event. Their fan base (especially on RTG) constantly make me chuckle with their total faux outrage (not seen before the 7th October 2021). However, since the Spurs win, the utter annoyance and pure jealousy has increased tenfold. Now the faux outrage is mixed with money spent, never make the top 6, Bruno transfer links, Howe getting England job and a daily dose of Biden forcing sanctions. They're broken and don't know which way to turn and it's delightful to see. A gentle reminder that this is only the start also.
-
Biggest difference for me is that he is now not playing the safe option after missing/fucking something up. He's now confident enough to keep trying things when it doesn't come off. It's noticeable he's also not cutting back onto his favoured foot everytime he was played in, which was a big issue previously with me. Obviously Howe will be instrumental in this, but the fact that his support in play is usually coming from Trippier and Bruno is massive also.
-
First time I saw someone go by him for a long time today (great bit of skill by Bailey to be fair), but with our defence currently there is always cover. He had another great game though, him and Botman are just immense.
-
I thought he was good and apart from I think once getting caught in possession and one poor ball, was orchestrating the play as usual. Maybe didn't play as many crossfield balls as usual, but I thought he was still the main link man as usual.
-
I know he was linked with us (don't know how serious it was) and I thought it was a great signing for Villa, but in hindsight he was the exact type of player we needed to keep away from (we did thankfully). Apart from about 2 games he's been terrible (the warning signs were at Barcelona). Great player in his time no doubt about that. Buendia and Bailey have not really lived up to expectations either. Maybe Emre will get them playing, though they don't seem to be his press type players he's renowned for.
-
He has, but him and Willock do interchange during the match.
-
Maybe it was Bruno who sorted the tickets or Southgate was arranged first. I'm sure he enjoyed it in the stands more being in with the crowd.
-
Bruno, however (even though there are a few upgrades to be made), I genuinely don't dislike any player we have in the squad. Some players in the squad I don't particularly rate, but you certainly can't question attitudes and efforts of any of the squad on and off the pitch. I genuinely can't remember feeling that way before (even during the Keegan entertainer years, there were one or two I wasn't keen on. Some seasons I wasn't keen on half the team Yes that's down to in a big way to Howe (as Bruno said he treats the 4th choice keeper exactly the same way as key first team era), but you have to credit to the players also (led by Trippier who you can see is totally respected by everyone). Never seen a group of players who are so genuinely close and support each other. Must be great for a new player coming into the club and getting all round support whilst they settle in.
-
No match thread obviously, but I hope for the Palace game we play as strong as team as possible. With it being so close to the World Cup break and at home, the need to rest players is less of a priority. I'm pretty sure Palace will play their strongest 11. Going to be interesting how Howe is thinking though. I can see St Max, Shelvey and Anderson possibly starting, but I'm still far from convinced with our back up options. What's people's thoughts?
-
This and the Bruno goal show they are working on different methods. Great tool in the box as teams will be expecting balls straight in the middle with the height we have.
-
I thought he was more than fine today. Some of the stuff he did was top notch.
-
Be a big miss next week. He's one player I like to see in our lineup for away gives as he gives us that big physical presence in the midfield.
-
It's actually very comforting that come January, we will (hopefully barring injuries in the World Cup) have Isak, St Max and a possible 2 or 3 new signings (I think the owners will push the boat out with our current position). This could be a massive opportunity for us, as some of the top 6 teams are certainly not performing to their usual level, and the fact they will all be playing 3 games a week most weeks will give us a further advantage. A full squad and a few quality signings will boost our squad and enable us to maintain our intensity. Exciting times ahead, obviously I'm not getting too far ahead as the 'big 6' teams do have undoubted quality and may well add to their squads also.
-
Only time he has been uncomfortable was the City game, which was his first game and against Haaland. Even then he was decent and didn't have a bad game. Since then he's been basically imperious. Him and Schar are a perfect pairing.
-
Funny they're so broken they don't know what to rant on about now, faux outrage, only due to money, no way we qualify for Europe. Doesn't help mind that their team is dropping like a stone
