    Harvey Barnes

Love this guy, fuck England, declare for Scotland bonny lad and have yourself some fun at the world cup
  2. I don't think we're mathematically guaranteed a spot in the top 24 but there's a lot that would have to go against us for us to miss out.
  3. Wouldn't surprise me if he went down the road straight after to do one for the Sunlun website
  4. Aye, here's a question, as a boyhood Newcastle fan who junped the dyke, did you seriously believe any of us would forget this after you jumped back over it?:
  5. I'm completely done with him, his race is run here. Barnes is hardly the second coming of Johan Cruyff but the fact that he gets shunted out to the right to accommodate this pseudo-intellectual balloon is a farce
  6. I'm fucking sick to death of this season already, it seems absurd that we're so close to the European places, which if anything makes our pathetic away form and shitting the bed in the last few minutes more infuriating
  7. I am once again asking what is our style of play supposed to be? This team has no identity, it feels like the players get sent out with no instructions other than 'just try and score somehow lads, figure it out amongst yourselves'
  8. Frank losing at home to Wist'aaam and Parish's manager setting the building ablaze as he walks out. A really bad day for the gimpy nonce brigade
  9. 300k a week for him is absolutely wild. Aye sure, he is a good player but he's far from exceptional. I don't begrudge him that at all, he and his agent have played this to perfection even better that it's primarily at the expense of the dippers and the gimpy cartel fluffer Parish.
  10. You know it's bad when those two gibbons are stunned into silence!

401 pages for this guy man! You can tell the 2024 summer window was a dull one!

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Fuck the multiclub model, it might be OK if you support the team at the top of the food chain but imagine being a fan of one of the subordinates like Girona or Strasbourg knowing your raison d'étre is to be both a holding pen and a landfill for the bigger team. An arrangement where we loan our prospects to a specific club we trust who will give them what they need to make the next step like Chelsea - Arnhem, Man Utd - Royal Antwerp may not be the worst idea though
  13. Celtic through penny pinching and incompetence now find themselves 3rd in a 2 horse race and are managed (again) by a guy whose last permanent job was in 2019 with Forest where he was criticised for being outdated. The Celtic fans are up in arms again about how shoddily their board have managed this window so I think the Wilson link is no more than a bit of red meat their board has leaked to the press to throw to the fans in an attempt to quell the unrest. Then, at the end of the window when they eventually end up with no one they can pull out the 'we tried' line straight from Lee Charnley's 'Transfer Window for Incompetent Fools' manual. I can't see him at Celtic to be honest, their top earner is Callum McGregor & Kieran Tierney on circa 40k a week. Cal has nothing to prove, so if there's a 2 year deal from Saudi on the table for >100k a week vs a short term loan at Celtic on 40k a week max then it's a no brainer. Celtic are a shambles, get yourself to Saudi bonny lad.
  14. A potential strike force of Ihenacho and Wilson! The treatment table at Celtic Park won't know what's hit it! Wherever he goes I hope he smashes it, got nothing but love for the guy
  15. Astro, with the very best will in the world, I think you're seriously underestimating how damaging signing MG would be for the club. There would be uproar among the fanbase, staff/players and sponsors if we were even linked with him. He is undoubtedly a very talented player but there's a reason he's been exiled to Spain & France, his brand is toxic and for that reason he is not a Realistic Transfer Target as the thread title suggests. Whether his partner has forgiven him or not is irrelevant, we all heard the audio and saw the images and made our own judgement based on that. The whataboutery comparisons with Carroll, Suarez etc would have it's merits if we debating the morality of supporting players with questionable values/behaviour but as it happens, we're discussing the idea of MG at Newcastle, to that, the answer is a resounding no on the basis that he's a deplorable individual who committed one of the most heinous crimes known to man. Look after yourself Astro, this stuff isn't worth getting yourself worked up about.
  16. On a human level, I do sympathise with him, he seems like a really nice guy and it must be awful to start a new job filled with such promise only for it to go arse over tit in a short space of time especially when it's being played out in the public eye. But in football terms, we just spent a lot of money to bring him here and we're paying him a fortune to be the answer to our RW dilemma and within a few short months he's already been usurped by Jacob Murphy and most fans are even wondering if he's an upgrade on Almiron! He's been an objectively appalling signing, for everyone's sakes we should cut our losses at the first opportunity
  17. I had to double check that I wasn't rerouted to RTG over the last few pages!
  18. You just knew that Wissa miss was going to cost us. Nevermind, the tie isn't over, all we need in the second leg is an early goal, multiple injuries and suspensions for them, Jimmy Nail to be appointed referee and Pep to be incarcerated for crimes against football and replaced by Wilfired Nancy
  19. Yep. Thiaw, Woltemade, Bruno, Botman, Isak and Tonali weren't PL proven when we signed them, even Hall and Tino weren't really what you would deem 'PL proven players'. Good players whose profile fit the way the team plays will serve you well no matter where they're from. We need to be more creative with our recruitment, we won't be able to shell out 40-50m on squad filler from fellow PL clubs because they "know the league" for much longer
  20. That is easily the single most unhinged and despicable thing I've ever read on any forum ever and for it to happen on here is truly sad. When you sober up in the morning I hope you're ashamed of that.
  21. Further evidence that the term "Premier League proven" means nothing if they come from a team which play different and have different expectations.
  22. I was hoping that the days of signing guys like this were over! An absolute diddy. Who the fuck sanctioned spending 55m on this guy, he's not suited to the way we play
  23. Nah man, you have to be scoring those Wissa! We'll live to regret that.
