I hope that whatever we do tonight, we at least use it as prep for the final…be it hold something back tactically, try some thing new, throw a deception, or something. Winning this doesnt matter so much

I think good, if we use it to test their flaws or plant ideas/decoys tactically.

I am not optimistic tbh. I just don’t see us stopping their big occasion players. However, I think the mentality is different for me. I don’t feel as crazily emotional as 2023. This feels more routine. I was half expecting a win in 2023, so the hope killed me. This time, I think we will put a shift in, but unfortunately I expect a loss, so anything else is a bonus. Apologies for the negativity. I am excited, but I foresee a loss more than I did in 2023. Hope I’m wrong.

I think a few reasons…possibly 1. The profile of player we want is not available at the price we want 2. We still have issues with PSR which would have had to be managed if we had bought Guehi, probably by outgoings. This is going to be the case until June 30th 3. We’re not as fucked by injuries as we were in summer 4. Howe is extracting performances out of players that we maybe weren’t expecting All of that together means we are probably more likely to go for our targets in summer.

This is a fair assessment. I think Mbeumo is great, but not at the price we will have to pay. We should be able to pick up players that are of better value. If we get him, I would assume that would kind of be our lot unless we shifted a Bruno/Gordon/Isak

I don’t think he’s going to cost just 50 million, probably nearer 70. If we do that, and we get into the CL, then we will be again looking at a thin squad next year. We have other positions to sort as well. GK, CB, and maybe even a development player in CM if we ship Longy.

I would avoid Mbuemo purely for PSR reasons. We need to find better value.

He’s fucking class. I used to hate seeing him play, thought he was absolutely fucking useless after some terrible performances, but good god, he’s a fucking player and a great personality

Arsenal have spent so much money on players they don’t actually need. Merino, Havertz, Calafiori…even Rice. Then you have Sterling, Jorginho etc. Their forward play relies entirely on Saka. Martinelli has turned absolutely wank. I think they missed their window for winning something and didn’t build on those foundations with the right buys.

In my lifetime, he is up there with Shearer. All round, probably a better player. As a pure striker/finisher, Shearer was better.
