I was raving about him at the back end of last season and even in pre season he looked class , looked worryingly out of his depth against Southampton though and didn't think he was much better last night . He could get exploited easily against Spurs so would be tempted to start Kelly .
-
Been a strange start to the season for him, easily the best player on the pitch against Southampton followed by two poor games . He's still class though and will have a lot more good games than bad ones.
-
At least UEFA are actually trying to close all these loopholes and stop teams taking the piss, basically in the PL if you are a big 6 club you can do what you want until UEFA get involved.
-
Despite being poor so far I still fancy us to win this , it's Spurs at home , probably couldn't have hand picked a better game for us to get our season started properly.
-
We were playing a Forest team that made 10 changes tonight , I wouldn't class that as a hard away game really .
-
I just don't understand what has happened to our press and running from two seasons ago? I presumed last season was down to injuries, as we did it well up until that Man United home game when we blew them away and somehow only won 1-0, ever since then though its been non existent and the early signs this season are that it's not returning .

Sideways move It wouldn't have even been a sideways move if we were still owned by Mike Ashley .
-
Goal masked another poor performance, if he wants to go to Liverpool fair enough but he can get fucked if he's just going to give up and stop running etc to try and force a move through . He did the same to get out of Everton as well.
-
Will certainly give us a good idea if we are going to be poor away from home again which was our downfall last season.
-
If he stays fit he gets double figures in goals , simple really.
-
ASM never really got worse under Howe , he just wasn't good enough to be a regular in a team that finished 4th playing with the intensity and pressing that we did that season.
-
Eddie could definitely get Sterling back to the player he was a couple of years ago, the fact he is so miffed off at being dropped at Chelsea and wanting to leave to play regular football shows he still has the desire. It would have been easy for him to just sit on his 300k a week contract at Chelsea and not play if he had no desire to continue playing football.
-
Exactly this , we need a new right winger everyone knows that but scoring goals last season was never an issue and it won't be this season , we conceded a boat load of goals and that's what hampered us .
-
5/4 is a crazy short price for us to win this game when you look at our away results over the last year or so, I would be happy with a point.
-
He looked like he couldn't be arsed at all yesterday, really hope he's not downing tools like he did at Everton to get his move .
-
I thought the most alarming thing even before the sending off was the lack of press , Southampton were just pinging it about at times and it seemed we had no urgency and the press was non existent. When I think back to the Villa game first game of last season and even the Forest one the year before we just pressed and ran them off the park and yesterday was nothing at all like that . Gordon in particular looked like he couldn't be arsed and he's normally chasing and running after everything .
-
I wouldn't be surprised if he's doing all this on purpose purely because it's us, had one of his mates in the big 5 or Spurs bid what we have I reckon he would have accepted .
-
Walk away , we are talking Isak levels of money here and however good the lad is it's safe to assume he's not in the Isak level of class .

Premier League Winners: Arsenal Runners Up: Man City 3rd-6th: Liverpool, Newcastle , Man United , Villa. Relegation: Southampton, Ipswich, Leicester Overachievers: Newcastle Underperformers: Spurs PFA Player of the Year: Isak Newcastle United Where will we finish?: 4th Top Goalscorer: Isak Season to forget: Trippier Will Howe be manager at the end of the season?: Yes
-
They are both good enough to be a back up option and none of them good enough to be starting every week , wouldn't say is much between them at all yet only one of them gets abuse and that's for the reasons I mentioned above .
-
Yep it's weird , Miggy is actually a better player than Murphy but because Murphy was absolutely shit for years , is a bit of a wind up and also a Newcastle fan he gets absolutely none of the stick that Miggy gets .
-
Its so typical that as soon as we become good after 15 years of Ashley a load of other teams do the same, was many years under Ashley where after the big 6 the rest of the league was a joke and now its much stronger.
-
Yep, he is an excellent footballer and we would miss him no doubt at all , however he isn't a generational talent with a wow factor like Isak or Bruno and if we have to sell one of them three for FFP then Gordon for 80/90 million to Liverpool would be the easiest to stomach and easiest to replace.
-
8th is a joke , I am not seeing Spurs and Chelsea above us at all, Spurs only finished 6 points ahead of us last season and that was after they had a brilliant start to the season and we had everything possible go against us all season long with injuries. Chelsea only finished 3 points ahead of us last season and now have a worse manager and are probably going to rely on Palmer scoring a daft amount of goals again. I really think people are underestimating us after last season.
-
If we have offered 50 million and he's saying we are nowhere near then we need to pull out , he's not a generational talent and he's not worth paying stupid money for .
