That makes sense! thank you, I think the only thing that we would be moved from is a Saturday 12.30 kick off following a Wednesday away game in the CL
-
Not sure if there’s a better thread for this, but just saw the TV picks for October. currently Brighton and Fulham games are Saturday 3pm, so no tv, but as champions league games precede both those weekends, I believe the games have the potential to be moved to Sunday 2pm, where they would then be on TV. does anyone know the criteria for it being moved? Is it only if we played Wednesday? And away only or home game aswell?

Usually you an option in the clubs favour or the players favour, and it only requires the relevant party to trigger it. youre basically agreeing at the time its included in the contract to give that power to said party.
-
Haven’t we tried it before? But then as the other countries dont do it it just affects us English teams

Without ever seeing this lad play, I hope this deal gets done quickly.
-
It’s interesting, you’d like to think that for the ones nearer the top of that list, that any wage increase would be (mostly) offset by the increase in contract length.

Only saw snippets of today’s game, how did he do?

Can’t get on board with this one
-
Think it was 75+5, so only 75 guaranteed, this reads as 80 guaranteed

Agreed, since the whole thing broke about 2 weeks ago there hasn’t been any real movement to be fair, it’s all just media talk keeping it going. I feel like there would have at least been a bid made/rejected by now if it was going to happen. It doesn’t make any sense for anyone involved for it to drag on.

It’s a weird one, it’s dragged on for so long without actually a lot happening. the only noises of him refusing to train are from the Liverpool end. If we take the locals journos at face value then he has a legitimate injury and is open to a move, rather than refusing to travel/train to make it happen. as each day passes I’m more and more confident he will be here come the end of the window, with possibly a new deal including a gentlemen’s agreement/release clause for next summer, dependent on our performance. if we get CL again & win another trophy, who knows, maybe he will stay.

Loan with an option, don’t see the fuss. If he does well, we get him permanently, if not, we can send him back and reevaluate our targets in 12 months. decent move considering the above.
-
Reported last night he looks set to be cleared
-
The mail reporting West Ham could let Paqueta go for £30m…
-
So looks like he just chose City over us, can’t really blame the club for this one then if our bid was accepted
-
My point applies to any signings at this point, but I’d argue the impact of Trafford would be noticed after the fact, it might not appear as an urgent position to sort, but it would massively improve us in possession.
-
Just pay the money at this point - I get the argument of spending too much here means we can’t fulfill all our positional needs, but the rate we are going, by adopting that strategy we are missing out on everyone we want. Surely better to get 80% of what we want, as opposed to budget for 100% and end up with none?
