To be fair I did the injury at 39 and it was the first I had from playing since 7 that kept me out longer than a couple of weeks so I had a very lucky run with them. Week before I did mine, I accidentally kneed a bloke in the face, breaking his nose, when he ducked down into a header, so saw it as the universe’s karma for that!

Didn’t get seen until July 21, due to Covid and waiting list knock on effects. Spoke to the consultant and he said there was a 30%ish failure rate for dynamic sports so still currently waiting for an appointment to remove my meniscus. Footballing career officially over but have finally made peace and going to help coach/manage my old team when I get back to NZ. Miss the camaraderie a lot.

It fucking knacks, basically immobilises that leg and don’t know how he tried to play on. Did my knee first time in June 2019, rehabbed it, played 45 mins of comeback Feb 2020 and was fine. Then did first half 45 mins in the next game and was ok but 2 mins into 2nd half tried to cut back onto that knee and it just buckled like a folding hinge. Ended up being a complete ACL tear and displaced bucket handle tear of the lateral meniscus.

I’ll just laugh at the memes of Holt, Delaney and Pandit’s heads superimposed onto drug addict bodies. Let them keep gnashing and wailing, couldn’t give a shit about their poison pen articles any more.

I hear the Willy Wonka prequel is looking for up and coming Oompa Loompas. Fraser could always get his Equity card and try out.

Cool - I imagine there is some classic accounting smoke and mirrors shit going on. I think with the talent stockpile they have, they’ll go for a striker and keeper along with Olise and Lavia and then take whatever comes their way from the toothless PL by way of embargo.
-
I think West Ham will take Tam and another player from them, meaning it’ll take RB Leipzig levels of transfer negotiation and a huge fee to get Hincapie. File under next summer.
-
Their current losses are £121m, £156m and whatever they potentially book this year. Given losses have to be less than £105m on a rolling 3 year basis, I think they’re gambling on knowing they’ll be under embargo by the PL for January and possibly summer 2024. https://sqaf.club/premier-league-ffp-table/#:~:text=Premier League FFP Rules&text=Clubs are also required to,covered by the club's owners.

Ooh. That might give us the flex on a RCB. 5 year deal is less than £2m amortisation a season plus whatever wages he’d be on. Basically could be offset getting Ryan Fraser’s wages off the book.
-
The Athletic article on why Chelsea believe they are within the limits of FFP is an interesting read. The Premier League’s feet dragging over implementing 5 year caps on contract amortisation might save them for a couple of seasons if they miss out on Europe but the big facet will be the lower wages for young players, more heavily linked to performance incentives, and flogging their young players. Makes the theory of a Hall deal more believable in this context.

Fat fee for Villa to invest in someone with actual talent.

Scorching in Athens today. Hope for some light heat exhaustion, cramps and potentially the odd calf or hamstring injury before the weekend.
-
If Man Utd were stupid enough to give a contract with all those incentives, they bear the risk. What will Maguire’s value be in a year after 12 months on the bench? The trade off between lost transfer value and that payoff may be negligible.

Might work in our favour for Lewis Hall, or might not if Chelsea cut them a sweetheart loan for him.

Bit like us with Wilson->Isak last season

Any reason why some tweets are embedding and others aren’t?

Definitely no need to sell Andersen now.

Jurgen’s Asthma boys coming up in 11 days. I’m sure they’ll be dosed up to the gills.
-
Bails the Scabs out the shit a bit as they’ve broken themselves in that Year 1 transfer frenzy. Or they’ll just give us £40m for Targett and Lascelles.

Wasn’t he married to Kat Gallon off Skunkers? Probably some deep seated post divorce acrimony towards NUFC driving forward his agenda.

Cunha has serious J7 vibes.

And the nous to hire a Ronaldo and Messi matching dwarf set for your birthday party.
