  1. This does not matter. Ref then orders to the freekick to be retaken. If you see a freekick for example given for an offside from 25 yards and the GK comes to take it, they usually throw it forward a bit and then kick it. If you then go and kick the rolling ball back saying it was in the wrong place, 100/100 yellow card. This is a small touch but pretty much the same. The funny thing is, if that was Saliba giving the fk and Welbeck infront of him acting like a moron, Arsenal fans would be yelling for a 2nd yellow.
  2. If Rice just walks back back towards the ball and doesnt do anything, he does not get a yellow. Idiotic thing to flick the ball.

    Jamal Lewis

Yes Aarons was better, but Lewis looked like he was ok. Like better than Dummett. But ended up being quite awful.

    Jamal Lewis

I think he looked ok for Norwich, just like the other fullback. Like ok-ish PL player.
  5. I am notoriously crap in this game. Today I have got Pedro (8p) and Minteh (4) on the bench, cause I thought Arsenal will hammer them. But of course not.
  6. I can now confess that I do not have Haaland in my FPL team but I do have Isak. And as soon as I transfer Isak out he starts banging them in, and vice versa for Haaland..
  7. It is 100% a yellow. Harsh but right call.
  8. Nowadays it is always a yellow. Players should learn to leave the ball by now.
  9. Kicking the ball away. Exactly right call. And Arteta will cry about it.
  10. From 0-10, I say 4. We needed refreshments and we certainly needed to shift some players. And we have managed neither. Lewis might still go? Loans to Championship are still possible right? But we kept our best players in spite of PSR troubles. Sold 2 players who weren't really part of our squad last year. But the defence is such a mess.

    Marc Guehi

This "Howe said it's Guehi or no one" is total bullshit. Like What if he said rightaway he has no interest in moving to Newcastle? Of course we have other targets, we might just have missed them or are waiting for example a Chelsea loanee / Chalobah etc. Or then we get no one. No club identifies one player and then accepts nothing else.

Bailey reported months ago that we are very close to signing Thiaw. doesn't look good, but he isn't trustworthy. edit. Ok now Edwards is saying the same. On to the next target then.
  16. The "verified" is usually info from some agents. Agents certainly have incentive to tell their players are getting higher salaries than what they really are. It's all guesswork. No one even knew Howe had made a new deal before Eales said about it a year later...
  17. This is quite surely wrong. Kelly getting triple the money than Luiz Dias and double what Botman is getting? Lol yea right. Free signing of course, but that is clearly wrong. His agent would have hundreds of new clients if that was true.

    Lewis Hall

True, taking risks does not automatically mean you are a good passer, but in modern football centreback has to have the ability to play to tight spaces to midfielders, and/or in Schär's (and somewhat Botman's) case, the ability to switch play. Playing only the easy short pass towards FB or CB makes the possesion play predictable and slow. Burn very rarely plays the ball to midfield, that is the problem. That is why he might have 100 % passing success, but it leads to nothing. Yesterday you could see especially with Krafth that he does not want to take risks with the ball, and pretty much always chooses the simple pass sideways. He was afraid to even advance with the ball and try to lure the press towards him or step into midfield with possession. That puts us under more pressure if you can never play past the first pressing line. In Burn's case, he can pass the ball more than five yards, I am sure of it. He either is not willing to do it, or by Howe's choice is not doing it. For example, Barnes played very wide in the last 20 minutes, he certainly would have been the out ball from the back if Burn was willing or able to play the long diagonal. Yes, maybe he decides he doesn't want to try those, but then he isn't "a great passer". Regarding Hall: people forget how young he is. He will get better and already has gotten better. Against stronger teams we might see Kelly at LB just because Hall's weaknesses. Hall offers good threat offensively and will come good.

2 right footers seems to be ok, but not 2 lefties... Going back to topic, Hall will score quite a few. Likes to get into shooting positions.

Burn's passes are to Hall, Krafth and Pope. It may be tactical, but almost everytime he gets the ball, he switches it to his left and plays it to Hall. Opponents of course scout this and it puts Hall under more pressure. Opponents can let Krafth and Burn keep the ball, they cannot do anything with it anyway. Difference between Botman/Schär and Burn is huge regarding passing. Burn does not take risks.

    Joelinton

Wasn't at his best, but much better than against Bournemouth. Gives the ball away too much

    Lewis Hall

Naah, if you can't play longer passes and only got one foot you are not excellent.
  23. Don't trust Pope to save any of the penalties. We were awful on the ball today. And poor finishing.
  24. Our centrebacks are so bad on the ball. Everyone who thinks RW is more pressing priority than a CB must be mad. Krafth's passing is way too slow and Burn can only kick the ball with his left foot towards Hall.
