  1. Haha that must be the first time someone has used those two words in N-O.
  2. Kiraly is a legend man. Football needs characters. Wasn’t a world class goalie but seemed a great chap.
  3. As a bloody foreigner, that really sounds fking awful. And I don't understand half of it.
  4. We cannot offer Williams 250k a week if our best player is on 180k a week. Problem is not can we afford or not, but it doesnt make sense. Everyone should forget these Williams/Olmo etc names that played well in Euros. Our targets have been identified long ago.
  5. I would say we are clearly after CB and RW. Striker if Wilson leaves.
  6. And fee shouldnt be higher...
  7. The biggest problem for England is that Southgate makes you too cautious. And Kane should not have played, clearly was not in shape. Your centrebacks stay so deep that when you lose the ball there is no counter attack threat, but it also makes hard to press, so automatically you have to drop deep. And of top of that, he didn't get the best out of players. Foden, Bellingham, Kane all moving to occupy same areas of the pitch, and no threat behind. Watkins should have started.
  8. Otto Huuhtanen, who played for Newcastle Academy for few years but already retired earlier this year, aged 24, signed a 1-game-contract and made a return to Finnish Premier League. Apparently he was (unsurprisingly) horrible, and his team lost 0-7. https://www.transfermarkt.com/otto-huuhtanen/profil/spieler/406695
  9. Me too. Maatsen might be good addition though. Losing Luiz is a blow and Onana is overhyped imo.
  10. 50 million is a mad price. He is good player but we have no need for him at the moment.

Xisco should be in Wood's place imo.

Maybe at Boro, but in that great Ajax side he was very good. Have quite rarely seen someone been so good 1v1 defender.

I thought Reiziger was good? Was brilliant for Ajax IIRC, and played a lot for Barca. Surely has to be many who are lot worse.
  14. I think it is obvious we enquired about Olise. He is most likely one of the best right wingers available this summer. We might well have enquired about Mbeumo also. We do not know that.
  15. To be honest, you are missing a bit more. Decent striker, in form Rashford or a someone in his place at least.
  16. This is a tired conversation all together. Signings and finding talent is never about one individual or some technical director. There are millions pieces in that puzzle that have to function.
  17. If we get 10 million from him, I think I would sell.
  18. Murphy must be happy to be a squad player and is cheap wages-wise also. No point selling him I would say.
  19. Agree. But given the money MGW would cost, I would say we would get an efficient left footer. But really the biggest thing is that he can contribute goals+assists, that is something Almiron hasnt't been doing except for one patch.
  20. fair enough, I respect your opinion and think totally differently. Although there must be some reason that no top team has right winger who is right footed? At least in the PL, if I remember correctly. And I think those issues did pop up even with Murphy. And Murphy is not a technical player drifting to that pocket which Bruno often occupies.
  21. No, of course not. But we are not Man City or someone else that controls the play all the time. Howe's football is a lot about transitions, and getting your best goalscorers to best possible places to shoot increases our chances. Even Almiron has been effective in that role, and he is totally one footed and doesn't have a great shot. Edit. And if the RW doesnt cut in but stays wide, then the fullback has to come inside. If the winger drifts to right side pocket he will be in same position that Bruno often occupies when we attack slower. And of course we need a player that has better weaker foot than Almiron has.
  22. The problem with the right footer at RW, even if he drifts inside, is that he doesn't bring a goal scoring threat from cutting in. We need a winger who likes to cut inside and let the fullback overlap, which Trippier or Tino will gladly do, and possess a decent enough left foot. Bringing in a right footer will slow the play down, especially if he is not 2-footed enough.
  23. He is a good player, but not really what we need.
  24. Club mentioned "long term deal". 3,5 years does not sound like that.

    John Ruddy

Most likely is cheaper than Karius wages wise. And will play equal minutes (zero)
