@Froggy - this might sound like a dig or that I'm looking for a bite and I hand-on-heart am not, but about the "Man U" thing... are you from the area? Are you a youngun? Cos I grew up in Salford in the late 80s/early 90s and I swear down you'd hear reds using it all the time. As a complete aside, and not claiming it as proof of anything it always makes me think of the Happy Mondays live at Elland Road: 'are you Man U, you?' Edit: also, cross-post - yr reply just now wasn't there whilst I was typing away. -
would rather sign alexandra ocasio-cortez quite frankly

not like parker to be unable to turn things around at a reasonable speed..

would be satisfied with us just kicking shite out of their lads for the second half

aye, first cup final of many..

if we're letting in tap-in merchants and going off purely goalscoring instinct and being in the right place and the right time, there's a few names on that list i'd fuck off in favour of ruud van nistelrooy

Aye, but being in Ghana is preferable to being in Leeds.

"heritage" in so far as it pays tribute to our proud history, going back to the days of seymour, mckeag, and earlier, of the fans having the absolute piss ripped out of them by the club.

the thing about cruyff's 14 that amazes me is, given that squad numbers hadn't been invented, and given that dutch culture wasn't particularly given to non-conformity, neither a coach or a referee told him to stop fucking about and put a starting players number on his back. -
dancing? dancing? they should bring back national service.

came out of the brentford game convinced we'd be champions, now tempered meself slightly to thinking that i'd find 4th a disappointment. -
ben tozer, aaron spear, michael richardson. that jason prior cunt we got on trial at 22/23 on the basis of him scoring a shitload in non-league..

as you ask.... no, i don't hahaha. but aye, the ridiculous night-before-christmas excitement of being a youngun seeing all these names in the youth getting hyped up. aside from the above, crawford, stuart elliott, drysdale. i guess huckerby is the only one who can kind of be counted as one who got away, never would have been near the top level but had a good enough career. saying that i'm not sure it's entirely a thing of childishness, given i had the same thoughts about bigirimana, abeid, kemen, situ, vuckic, satka, kadar. guess the latter two managed a servicable career at least.

christ, i remember being a bairn and having unreasonably high hopes for gudjonsson and brayson being our forward line of the future..

if this game had a competent ref it'd have been shite, argentina sitting on the game for an easy win, so fair ply to fifa for selecting this awful fucking clown dickhead to blow the whistle. -

there's tons of uniteds, but only one newcastle, so the united thing never bothered me (the "YA-NI-TED" chant is the only time i can remember us routinely being referred to as such), tho tomyam's post up there suggests there might be an interesting age difference thing going on. generally speaking i'll say newcastle, and write nufc. as it happens, the mention of "man u" brings to mind that mufc have a similar thing going on - you'll sometimes see people attempting to be superfan online, looking down on fans who say "man u" as the sign of a johnny-come-lately out-of-towner, and it's bollocks. i grew up within spitting distance of old trafford (not my fault) and you'd hear it all the time.
