Hahah fuck me

Good to note that our transfer targets seem to be very famous wunderkinds who we’ve been linked with for almost half a decade, or blokes we’ve seen on MOTD - all of which are likely to break the bank. Might be time to get some scouts to do some actual scouting.
-
I can’t add West Ham and Wolves to that list - they’re proper top flight clubs with the history to match. It’s your clubs who’ve spent many more years outside the top flight than in it who love the current cosy arrangements. Wolves and West Ham don’t need the current financial fixes to be top tier clubs
-
You can add Mbeumo and Wissa to that list

Funniest thing about the climb down is that he’s likely to understand that we’ll now just pay him on his current deal until an inevitable sale next summer. He’s absolutely blown his own feet off (as has his dipshit agent) And the scousers’ reward for all of this will be to watch him sailing off to sunnier climes next season - there’s zero chance he goes to Liverpool now. He’s professed in the past his desire to play for a big Spanish club - Liverpool would’ve been just another stepping stone

I agree - though plenty have worked at huge clubs and not had the same success

Howe isn’t in the Guardiola bracket.

Good to see that Leeds’ support remain the lovable, fun-loving collection of rapscallions they always were -
We returned to type under Shearer vs Fulham and Villa after that game vs the smoggies. As dislikable as many of that squad was, much of what came out suggests that Shearer and Dowie were utterly useless. I'm glad Shearer didn't get the opportunity to damage his reputation in the second tier - and Ashley was right not to offer him the job
-
Off to take a shower now, offering even the most modest of 'praise' for Kinnear (which I didn't intend it to be) feels grubby
-
Likewise - though that is not in praise of Kinnear's abilities. We needed only six points from the remaining eight games to stay up - or 0.75 points per game: the equavalent of a 29 point season. Kinnear was averaging 1.1 ppg - which is bottom half of midtable form; so we only needed average relegation form to stay up. Shearer managed 0.625 ppg, which is a 24-point season. We really should not have went down that season.

All the best to the lad, he was superb loan signing, definitely helped keep us up when we looked sunk. Comes across as a good bloke and solid pro, too. Might be a bit mean-spirited, but he’s probably been the worst permanent transfer of Howe’s managerial reign - which says a lot about just how well our transfers have worked, as I still think he’s a solid pro who would do a good job for a bottom six PL team.
-
Perhaps because the proposals would leave it a long way short from being best in class?
-
Problem is that the squad was short of numbers in 23/24 for the CL campaign, and we didn’t need to just get one in, one out - we were short before that point.
-
Agreed, it’s all speculative - and we can’t know if it would have sated Isak and his agent. Probably not by the looks of it
