The club doesn’t receive any income from away tickets tbf. I’m not sure how much anything was enabled - sure, an empty SJP would be embarrassing for the PL, but I think it’s easy to forget that some folks build their lives around going to the match with their mates. For many it’s their only social outlet - and it’s not about winning, drawing or losing. Going to football is meant to be a bit of fun, after all - I sometimes wonder whether or not I used to take it too seriously. Ashley was a cunt who mishandled the club and insulted us while doing it. Just like pretty much every other cunt who’d run it before him. He bled money from the club - just like his immediate predecessor. Going home and away every week eats up a massive portion of your life - and if they’re completely fucked off with Isak acting like a spoiled greedy little cunt, they absolutely have the right to call that out. If I’m being sober about it, it probably doesn’t help, we would be better off with Isak for another season and Howe hinted at that a little - but it’s their club, and that shouldn’t be forgotten. If I was still a home and away regular, I’m not sure I wouldn’t have expressed exactly the same sentiment.

If you pay your money and spend your time going, then are a proper fan. The more you go, the more seriously your views should be taken for me re how the club is treated by anyone. It’s their club at the end of the day - I stopped going early in the Ashley years, but I’m not going to judge anyone for continuing to go. I still watched every week - I just didn’t get off my arse and it didn’t cost me a penny. I’m not at all comfortable with armchair supporters calling an entire away end cokeheads because they called out Isak’s bullshit behaviour.

I still can’t get over the job that Howe and his team has done for this lad (and tbf BDB’s own professionalism). He looked like a good, solid signing when we needed to sign solid pros yo stay up - these days he looks every bit the England centre half that he’s become. Another composed performance by the big lad - hard to see Botman getting back in at the moment, even if he ever manages to get fit.

I’m more concerned with winning things too, but I still view that those who actually travel up and down the country and spend a massive chunk of their hard-earned are a better litmus test than someone like me. That’s the club’s hardcore support.
