The TV money, which is supposedly split between how you performed in your domestic league last year and how far you go in the Champions League in the current season. Progress, more games on TV, more coin etc.. Although why there's then another bit for "performance" I don't know.

This needs submitting to the Oxford Dictionary - or failing that Urban Dictionary - as the definition/example of Sad Mackem Bastard

It wouldn't surprise me if we got some Ashworth FFP creativity here. Something like an 18-month loan with various options/conditions attached, we can break or buy in the summer, that sort of thing. He's under contract until 2028 so even if we didn't buy him City could sell to someone else for decent money. City aren't difficult to deal with so it's an easy deal to do, so long as we negotiate a relatively cheap buy price so it looks like daylight robbery if he gets back to his old self and we keep him.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
Kilcline replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
Aye, take care of our business and we'll be fine. Dortmund don't lose many at home to teams not named Bayern Munich and they won't be pissing about when finishing 2nd likely means Man City, Barcelona or a Madrid team in the L16 as opposed to finishing top and getting an easy/easier one. -
Well exactly. Same as there's already rules for cynical fouls. Just enforce the fucking rules that are already there. The shithouse stop the counter cynical fouls will soon stop if the refs actually book people every time and give out second bookings. Just like shirt pulling in the box would stop if refs started giving each side 5 pens a game and penalising it. The sin bin stuff all just strikes me as idealistic "keep it 11 v 11 for the spectacle" bullshit. Let the refs enforce the rules and let's back them when they do, if a player is daft enough or doesn't know the rules that's on them, it's not the ref's job to keep it 11-a-side.
-
No, we don't want it taking minutes. But if the ball is known to have gone out and someone can tell the ref within 10 seconds "it's not a corner it's a GK," what's the problem? We're not talking micro-managing the game to the nth degree, the lino still has to make a decision. And if they can't do it in such a way that it takes <10 seconds and is open to interpretation and inconsistency in the way its currently used, then they shouldn't do it. Making it time-based would also remove the ridiculous "clear and obvious" weasel words and actually make it mean something, if it takes longer than X, go with the on-field and get on with the game.
-
Haven't got a problem with them using it for corners if they can check it in seconds, whether it's a corner or a GK is a matter of fact. But for subjective stuff it should be binned off altogether or used "for the howler" as it was supposed to be in the first place.

Just laughed loudly at Carragher giving it the "where you'd expect them to be" and not bothering to mention the 11 injured players

Easier to stand out in a dogshit team

Debating the goal against the Rooney one and showing it at half time man, save that shit for later
-
Quite enjoying them holding up their red cards at every opportunity though

Second half for me was the best we've played this season. Some of the passing and movement was exceptional. Chelsea were exactly what they've been all this season, neat and tidy enough box to box but can't defend properly and don't have a striker or anyone who can be clinical. Not going to cut it, if Nkunku doesn't make a difference when he comes in they're fucked so far as this season goes.
-
Described this guy as a joke to my lad halfway through the second half today, he is so, so good
-
This is the problem for me, he's miles better than that fucker until he starts trotting out the nursery rhymes. I mean even with those he's still better, but no need for it.

No doubt Drury has a line ready to go

I think if we're in Europe again next year then this season will have been a decent one. Assuming us or one of the other big boys win both the domestic cups then 7th will be enough for Europe again, and even if we end up in the Conference League finishing 7th it'll be straight into the group stage, no July qualifying round nonsense. Does anyone know what happens with the countries who get the extra CL places, as in does their place for the "other" competition go to the next team in their league, or will it just end up someone gets a bye in the first qualifying round to make up the "spare" extra slot?

Goal. 3 points. Video of him sorting out some tosser who goes looking to cause trouble with him when he's out having a drink later on tonight. A successful 30th all round.

Gary Neville banging on about Spurs' high line, they're probably quite happy for Sterling or Jackson to go through 1 on 1 as much as they like, they'll need about 20 chances between them to score

Honeymoon period for Ange well and truly over

This was 100% me When it was finally given I'd long since sat down and was just shaking my head at how much of a fucking farce it all was. A classic of the VAR ruining the moment genre
