Think it's more a trend across the game where instead of lads who might not be good enough/won't get in the team at CB being shifted out to full back it's now shifted to lads who might not be good enough or get a game in midfield get a go at full back instead as they'll theoretically be better players than the CB's. Disclaimer that there's a very high chance of recency bias as I'm thinking about the likes of Hall, Lewis-Skelly, O'Reilly, Hinshelwood, and Rico Lewis who all first got in at full back but are/were/can play as midfielders, good option to have for these lads
