Darth Crooks
I have to agree. Its more relief than elation. He had a far worse squad available than Pardew despite 80 million 'investmnet' and still being shocking.
klay321
So long McClaren. Good luck to him. bye now.
Disco
Surely that's his career absolutely done for now. What's been his record since 1 Jan 2015 - about 6 wins or something? Pathetic.
Darth Crooks
somehow conspired to get worse results than Pardew with 80m spent. Useless He is, but somehow that 80 million left us in a worse state than when Pardew was here. Fucking hate that twat.

BlueStar
No matter what the eventual outcome, it's pretty clear that we have a realistic chance as a club of landing a genuinely top class manager. So why the actual fuck we ended up with McClaren as choice A, B and C on our wishlist, stumbled on with no manager at all for months when he turned us down and nearly got relegated in the process, appointed him even after his promising start with Derby had become an utter shit show and they'd sacked him, bought him 80 million quid's worth of players, let him guide us back into the relegation zone again and then paid him £4 million to fuck off after 20-odd games is anyone's guess. All I can think is that, in their own retarded way, they actually thought that appointing McClaren would be a dramatic improvement. Trying to make sense of Ashley's brain is futile TBH. Tsunami
Paul Merson hasn't half spouted some shite about the club being disrespectful to McClaren; he's been given more time than other sides have given struggling managers, he can have no complaints. Over 5 seasons of Dream Team never managed to get so ridiculous. Getting laughed at by Harchester fans.

It's always the same. If Rafa comes in and keeps us up, Merson will be lauding the move

AyeDubbleYoo
Think it was unfortunate that we didn't sack McClaren immediately like. I mean, we could never have kept him in any circumstances once we started looking for replacements.

ToonTastic
Can't hammer McClaren to much, him being here meant Carver was no longer here and also appears to have gotten shot of the stupid transfer system and head coach position we had in place. Ant1815
Good. No matter what the eventual outcome, it's pretty clear that we have a realistic chance as a club of landing a genuinely top class manager. So why the actual f*** we ended up with McClaren as choice A, B and C on our wishlist, stumbled on with no manager at all for months when he turned us down and nearly got relegated in the process, appointed him even after his promising start with Derby had become an utter s*** show and they'd sacked him, bought him 80 million quid's worth of players, let him guide us back into the relegation zone again and then paid him £4 million to f*** off after 20-odd games is anyone's guess. Top class managers demand the chance to be able to actually compete and have a decent stab at winning something. That's not what Ashley wants. He wants us to keep just ticking along, being extremely average and surviving in the premier league. It's what Keegan found out, and we know how that ended. All of our management appointments since have fitted the mould of 'just about good enough' to fulfil that.
Unbelievable
Should have been binned before we went to La Manga. s*** timing but at least they've actually made some effort. Could have done with a fat Spanish waiter in La Manga
