McCormick
cant understand why everyone slates shola so much, when we needed him the most (under glen with all the injurys) he preformed. and the cycle begins anew...
Tachikoma
Offer them Ameobi and Smith in a £10m deal. A steal. £6m for the pair would be fair. I'd throw in Smith as a freebie if they take Shola
ChrisJbarnes
cant understand why everyone slates shola so much, when we needed him the most (under glen with all the injurys) he preformed. and the cycle begins anew... he did very well under roeder. as did everyone- initially. roeders full season i charge, enveryone was shite, including shola. not a good player really, thanks for the goals though! S.S.R.
I have an idea - When they come knocking to give us Ameobi back, we just hide behind the settee and pretend we're not in.

LoveItIfWeBeatU
I have an idea - When they come knocking to give us Ameobi back, we just hide behind the settee and pretend we're not in. I would have thought Stoke would be too worried about all those Zombies attacking their players to even think about Ameobi. Even if Stoke don't want him, Roeder at Norwich will (although, not for £4 Million unfortunately).

lovejoy
The Chronicle reckon he might be coming back because he's homesick. what a soft bastard. he's 26/27 for fucks sake, and he's only 2 hours or so along the road.

Baggio
KEVIN KEEGAN could have £4m wiped off his summer transfer plans with Shola Ameobi wavering over his move to Stoke City. The United hierarchy of Tony Jimenez and Dennis Wise appeared to have a great deal for the club by clawing in £575,000 for Ameobi’s loan spell at the Britannia Stadium. And once Stoke gained promotion, which they duly did at the weekend, the plan was for Ameobi to make a permanent move to the Potteries with £4m making its way into the United coffers. But the word from the Midlands today was that Ameobi is missing his native Tyneside and is not 100% certain that he wants to leave St James’s Park. And if Ameobi pulls out at the last minute he will be on his way back home and will be a Newcastle player at the start of next season. Stoke manager Tony Pulis could try and persuade Ameobi to give it a go and he has offered him a lucrative financial £1m-a-year contract. But on the other hand, Pulis has always struck me as a straight-talking kind of a guy and he could well think that it is pointless signing a player who is uncertain about joining his club. Ameobi got off to a flyer with Stoke, but he was injured at Coventry City and after that he did not start a game for Pulis. And he really became just a bit-part player as he watched Stoke’s promotion from the substitutes bench. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2008/05/07/ameobi-wavering-over-stoke-move-72703-20873385/

Disco
Fucking cunt, so he's just going to see out his contract here if he doesn't move. It's not like Stoke is the other side of the world or that he has actually live near. He could commute from Manchester/Yorkshire.

Disco
When Steve Harper does exactly the same thing it's called 'loyalty'. I'm no Harper fan and its a fair point but Steve Harper has always had a chance of first team football , Shola has little or no chance of getting into our first team squad next season. Guest optimistic nit
When Steve Harper does exactly the same thing it's called 'loyalty'. tbh harper has always been a valuble asset. if at any time harper's presence because a hinderance to us, like shola's is, and he turned down the chance to leave, do you really think we'd be defending him then? we've always known harper was a good keeper, and been perfectly happy for him to stay, even though he doesn't get a game, because of this, and if we sold him we'd need to get a replacement, who might cost more, and be worse than him. we'll need to replace shola, whether he goes or not, because he's shite. Dr. Nguyen Van Falk
Need to make it clear to him he ain't wanted and if he chooses to stay here he will get 0 playing time. That should see the silly sod packing.
KaKa
This is hugely embarrassing and rather pathetic. Disgraceful behaviour from Shola. Man up and go and make something of yourself you wimp.
Guest The Libertine
he's only now "homesick" when he's been found out by most of the stoke fans and they dont want him. now he can sit back and earn his easy money without having to do anything. classic shola. Both have spent loads of time purely as back-up. The odd run of games here and there but never established as first choice. Harper may have cracked it this time however. They've both just stuck it out but Harper is praised for his loyalty but lets just see how much shit Shola gets for, possibly, turning down a move. NG32
If he is not willing to go to Stoke then who will have him, Norwich is a similar distance if not further. I cant see Boro or the Mackems picking him up. Madness.
