Dave
I liked the way he saw and took the 'goal'. Just got his run ever so slightly wrong because nobody was tracking him back.

Cronky
The best thing about his "goal" the other day was that it was really Carroll-esque. He lept into the air, held himself there, and nodded it past the oncoming keeper. Once he settles into a role in the starting XI over the next few year, I've no doubt he'll start to shine. He may not be as good as Carroll is, or is going to be, but he could well be a solid striker for us - and better than anything else we have at the minute. I'd agree he's way more exciting than Carroll was at 19. He's got a hell of a jump on him, not just for the disallowed goal but he outjumped Jaaskelainen for another header earlier on too. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. How many times does a striker outjump a keeper, in a clean contest? He's a superb athlete. There's no limit to what he can achieve, if he sets his mind to it.

There's no limit to what he can achieve, if he is given enough games to show it. Fixed.

Yorkie
Cracking leap that. Fuck i hope he gets 46 games in the Championship next year.
Guest magpie99
If coached properly by someone like a Shearer, this kid has the potential to be even better than Carroll in a couple of years. I would actually start him every game from now till the end of the season, prob ably alongside Best because both have the physical presence, power and pace to upset defences and get goals. Like someone else on here has said, once he gets the first, a few more will follow.
Ronaldo
The same Shearer who coached us into scoring in only 2 out of 8 games?
Frazzle
I assume he would give Shearer longer than eight weeks to help out wor Nile.
Tooj
When Ranger bulks up he's going to be absolutely massive. Defenders will bounce off him. Hopefully he can knuckle down and show some progression over the next 12 months, as I'm really excited to see how he develops. As I think he's got masses of potential. AyeDubbleYoo
I'm confident Nile is going to do well for us. He's not the finished article, but who is at his age? For the limited amount of minutes he has had he's done OK, just needs a goal or two. Really looking forward to seeing how he develops. Hopefully as safety becomes assured Pardew will give him a couple of starts.

AyeDubbleYoo
The same Shearer who coached us into scoring in only 2 out of 8 games? I'm pretty sure Shearer knows how to play CF pretty well. He's the one who taught Shola how to back into the defender and fall over.
Dr.Spaceman
The same Shearer who coached us into scoring in only 2 out of 8 games? Any chance to have a dig at Shearer like and some people can't help themselves.

Ranger reminds me of a young Kluivert and that's the type of player I expect him to turn out like if he keeps on developing.

Hanshithispantz
Realy hoping that with Shola coming back into the frame he isn't shunned again, it's clear Pardew prefers Lovenkrands over the majority of the 90 minutes but with Shola coming back he'll probably be dropped. Just hope Ranger is still prefered as the impact sub ahead of him.
Guest Roger Kint
The only footballing aspect he shares with Kluivert is a shit attitude to training tbh
Yorkie
If we're not in a position to loan him out next year we'll have failed the lad. This year in the Premier League will have helped him greatly, because he's been up against the best defenders. You'd think he'd do very, very well in the Championship now after two years in the side with us. Meaning in 18 months time, potentially he'll be brimming with confidence and even more ability. I'm speaking idealistically, obviously, cos i really think it could go either way - but at the moment it all swings on a loan deal imo. He's got every reason to be playing regular football or he's just not gonna develop.
