I wonder how much Sylvan Ebanks-Blake would cost from Wolves?

Good all round striker, pacy and strong as well.

I've suggested him a few times on here, although there are a few who will slate you for it.  He was very good in second season at Plymouth and has been very good at Wolves.  He has played around 60 games in the Championship now and has got over 30 goals, so it's 1 goal in every 2 games.  He's young, so it's clear he is going to get better (ex-Man Utd youth player before joining Plymouth).  He'd cost us around £4m to £6m, but he'd be worth a shot.  He'd want to play in Prem and be hungry to succeed.  We need a breath of fresh air in attack and I'm convinced he would be the perfect player.  Young, talented, scores goals and someone who would actually want to come here.

No doubt Everton will get him, he will do well and everyone will moan that we should have got him.

According to Hungarian sources, Andras Gosztonyi is coming on a trial today. He is an 18 years old attacking midfielder/striker, and he is one of the most talented players in Hungary. He already made his full debut for MTK Budapest. He won the Best U19 Player of the Year award last year.

Love the fact we have signing or getting in on trial these talented youngsters.  Shame that we can't get our act together in finding ones slightly older who could play in the first team now given our millions of injured players.

Adil Rami? Anyone know anything about him

probably the same info as everyone else via google.....22 year old central defender, plays for Lille, called up to the French national team in March 08.

Never seen the lad play.......but given the knowledge of all the supposed regular Ligue 1 watchers on here who are experts about Mbia, Gomis etc that shouldn`t be a problem ;)

Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear admits he could bid £10million for Stephane Mbia - who has told skysports.com he is just concentrating on playing for Rennes.

Speaking exclusively to skysports.com, Mbia stated he would not be commenting on Newcastle's offer.

The Magpies bid £5million earlier this week - a bid which was shunned by Rennes, and they insist they want the Cameroonian star to stay put.

But Kinnear has now hinted he could be ready to up his bid, and he is set to watch the all-action midfielder in action on Sunday when Rennes take on Lille.

Speaking to skysports.com, Mbia - who Everton failed to land in the summer - said: "I don't have anything to say about any bid.

"What I know most is that Premier League clubs are interested in me, I am at Rennes at the moment, so it is between the teams."

Kinnear was speaking after Newcastle's defeat at Blackburn and he admitted he could be ready to table a very big offer for Mbia.

"I have never been a manager who has just blown money. Mbia is my first choice, he is something that we need," he insisted.

"If Geremi leaves I might put all my eggs in one basket, cancel the loan players I was considering and pay £10million for one player."

Kinnear is also set to take the chance to cast his eye over Lille stopper Adil Rami.

Hungary for signing

Skysports.com also understands that Hungarian starlet Andras Gosztonyi is on his way to Tyneside.

The 18-year-old is set to spend a week on trial at St James' Park.

The MTK forward is hoping to seal a move to Newcastle, where he would join fellow countryman Tamas Kadar - who joined the club last season.

Why cancel the loan signings?

Because you still have to pay a fee for loan players and Mr Ashley is not prepared to put his hand in his pocket.

Toon give Scandinavians a chance

Jan 18 2009 by Neil Farrington, Sunday Sun

JOE KINNEAR has revealed he will run the rule over three more Scandinavian trialists alongside Peter Lovenkrands in a behind-closed-doors friendly match on Tuesday.

But the trio of Norway and Sweden Under-21 internationals — recommended to Kinnear by veteran Norwegian agent Rune Hauge — are seen as potential long-term investments, rather than players to be pitched into Newcastle’s relegation battle.

Danish winger Lovenkrands, who trained with the Magpies all last week, hopes to win a permanent deal at St James’s Park by impressing on Tuesday.

But he will not be the only one out to impress.

“Three youngsters will play,” said Kinnear. “All three of them are Under-21 internationals. Two play for Norway and one for Sweden.

“One is a centre-back, one is a left-back and the other is a midfielder.

“We will take a look at them. But I am not thinking about them for the first team.”

If Ashley isn't prepared to put his hand in his pocket, where's the £10 million mentioned coming from?

it seems ridiculous to blow 10mill on one inexperienced 22year old who will need time to adjust to the premiership.
