Sébastien Bassong (now retired)

Not a perfect game as I thought Jones and Cisse ran him and Colo ragged at times but he was still outstanding. Great to see. Didn't bottle it, barely put a foot wrong, hope to hell he stays.

Bassong was amazing today, totally amazing. If we had a team made up of Habib Beye's and Bassong's we'd be alright.

He needs a song though, it's just not good enough that we have this absolute monster at the back and we don't have a song for him

Looked a different class today.

Really assured.

As for the song............how about an occasional rendition of 'you'll never beat Seb Bassong' until we come up with something better?

"He'll never be mastered by red and white bastards"

he needs a song that involves killing Kenwyne Jones

The way he flattened Jones got up and then looked at him like "What bitch?" dealt with Cisse as well, whoever found this lad deserves a blowjob from Donna Air, Jill Halfpenny and Cheryl Cole.

;D ;D

He is just fantastic, he looks like the £10mill CB not Colo, we MUST keep this lad no way should we look to cash inon him..

He played like a £20mill centreback today. Dare I say it, but that performance was Woodgate-like in the way he read the ball quicker than anyone else on the pitch, got tackles and little steals in before the opposition players knew they were coming, and when it was needed, pulled off the difficult big tackles to perfection.

If he can sort out that one problem of letting players get slightly goalside of him (and therefore having to wrestle with them on the move in an attempt to get back in front), then it's scary to think how good he could be. Scary because we'd then be worrying about hanging on to him. IF he turns out to be as good as he looks like he might become, then that's pretty much the type of centreback you simply do not sell.
