Llambias was supposedly Ashley's most trusted man. What the f*** happened to that relationship? Not to mention the message it sends that someone that has overseen so many negative things associated with NUFC feels he can't carry on any more, just a day after he welcomed Kinnear to the club. Something is seriously, seriously wrong for Llambias to walk.

This isn't about saying Llambias was a good guy, he wasn't. But where do we go from here? We're in an absolute tailspin.

Strangest thing for me was Kinnear in his sky sports interview said Llambias would control finances at the club...he then said in his Talksport interview that he had resigned 10 days ago and when asked what's his message towards the negative Newcastle fans, his response was 'well what do they want? Ask them if the want Derek Lambazey back?'. I then assumed Llambias had gone all together but then he was in the club statement as Managing Director (which i assumed he always was) welcoming Kinnear to the club. Now it comes out he has in fact resigned all together from the club. It's all very unclear what is actually going and it’s painful to watch it all unfold. I've never wanted to hear Pardew's voice so much to see if we can gauge a feeling of what his thoughts realistically are.

Deciphering the crap spouted by JFK is a dark art, but I think he was saying that Lambias had quit from the football side of things but was staying on to oversee the rest of it. It now seems quite possible that Llambias knew nothing about this change of role until JFK was appointed. As I said above don't read anything into the official welcome message from DL to JFK, its just standard PR blurb trotted out whenever anyone is appointed.

Let's have it right, Llambias is a complete prick and I'm glad he's gone, however the impression now is that we're up shit creek without a paddle.

Agree with this. Kinnear hasn't the heart literally for the manager job either so I'm hoping Pardew follows suit and we get an upgrade which wouldn't be that hard would it ?

 never underestimate this board. Probably get Souness back

Yep, the quote might not even have been from Llambias at all, just invented. FWIW I thought that Llambias was staying but in a different role - he has obviously been pissed off by JFK's appointment and also the thought of actually working with the guy.

Like Dave, I would love to know how Ashley and Llambias's relationship has gone bad so quickly.

Can't believe that Derek can emerge from this a sympathetic figure but, there you go.

Now the BBC website is saying JFK will not directly scout players nor negotiate contracts and that he'll just be a go between the first team and Ashley.  He'll be like that annoying little yapper of a dog who lays on the couch and growls at everyone who walks into the room.

My guess is that Kinnear was desperate to get back into football and Ashley is paying him a pittance.  He's using Kinnear as his sledge hammer to eliminate Derek, with whom he's become bored, and hopefully Pardew, who was never worth an 8 year contract.  It might be, in a Machiavellian way, the right move but Ashley's machinations always blow up in his face, much like Hyacinth in "Keeping up Appearances"

Guest Slippery Sam

Just got a text from a mate saying that Carr has resigned today as well. Not sure how he knows that, but he's normally right...

I hope that's untrue.

Was doing the rounds yesterday - one of the local journos on Twitter said it was untrue.

Aye Ryder confirmed that Pardew and Carr werent thinking of quitting today on the radio.

Sir Lee Ryder, Mind Reader, 50m Swimming Badge, Window Licker, OBE.

Apparently Kinnear gave Ryder his first job on Fleet Street.

Where do people assume Pardew and Llambias were very close and moved away from Ashley? Have a missed something or is it jsut people guessing to point more finger blame towards Pardew to have him gone as well?

Extremely random reference but I think you might be right!

Not going to happen.  If Kinnear is Ashley's first choice, just imagine who his second choice would be!

Have no interest in what he's got to say.

Spot on, his opinion can fuck right off.

It's just mental. Can't get my head around it at all. Got a feeling there are more changes on the way.

What this says to me is that Ashley was angrier with Pardew's performance last season than we thought. He's brought Kinnear in despite knowing that it might piss off Pardew pal Llambias, and now we are getting the fallout. It's left the club in the lurch but maybe we can emerge stronger for it.

A massive overeaction to how shit we were last season. Just sack the useless hoofball League 1 manager or rip the club to shreds bringing in a insane maniac.

What the fuck was he expecting though really?

Not being in danger of getting relegated with two games left.
