oldtype
I can't even begin to fathom who England could play in central midfield to partner Nolan and do all the dirty work for him like Tiote does for us.
Guest firetotheworks
Nolan would only be good for England if Tiote was English too.

TaylorJ_01
I'm not sure how Nolan and Simpson are suddenly England material but I'll put it down to drink and drugs. These two were getting absolutely slated to hell on here only a few weeks ago
Kaizero
tbf you don't really have to be any good to get into the current England side with the players already there.

Yorkie
Love the contrast in his physique from the age of 17 to now. He was lanky back then but he really isn't now. He's filled out into a proper unit - must be such a fucking rough bastard to play against.
Nobody
Absolutely love it that we've got a young, geordie forward who pretty much everyone now wants to see get an England call up.
Yorkie
I do want him to play for England, purely in the sense in which Towelie is highlighting. But in other respects i don't... i largely detest the England set-up and cba seeing him get in with that mob of overpaid mercenaries. Plus it's added fatigue in an extremely important season. But it'd be amazing to see him score for England.

Still, it would be a reason to follow England with a bit more passion if one of our own was there scoring the goals.

Karjala
It shows just how good he is, and how well we are doing when all the papers and tv sports bulletins are talking about Carroll and his "controversial" call up. The media just fucking hate us.

buzza
On a plus side, if he starts scoring for England no-one will diss the new "shearer" and we will be the talk of the toon (lol - pun).
broonalegeordie
I'm not that fussed about England, but it can only be a good thing to have our number 9 playing international football.
