In agreement with the majority.  It's a good deal if he's only going to be a squad player.  If he keeps getting games right wing and left back, I will not only be pissed off, I will be seriously worried about Pardew.

He has been nothing short of shocking at right wing, but he's an ok full back, puts a shift in and can cover various positions.

Useful player, no more, no less.

Good news, the HBA thing doesn't come into it. If Raylor left (not sure how long he had anyway) and he was still Pardews first choice at the time he would just find someone else with similar qualities.

I appreciate the fact that we need a squad. I just think we can do so much better than Raylor.

I like him though, but he's just not good enough.

I appreciate the sentiment but, it does, Pardew doesn't decide who we sign.

A bit ambivalent in all honesty. If he's squad/backup and happy to be that then fair enough, if he's seen as a key player going forward then it's a very worrying blindspot with Pardew.

For all I'd be astonished if it was actually the case, surely it'd be more than a blindspot? It'd be lunacy.

He is a regular starter, and regardless of how limited many think he is, he has done a decent job and performed to a decent standard in a consistent top 6/7 team in the Premier League. To get him committed for another 2 years saves the club a shit load of cash that they would need to spend on fees/agents to replace him, so free that money up in theory for other players/contracts.

Good news if you ask me.
