LoveItIfWeBeatU
These reports aren't as harsh on Elliot: - http://www.nufc.com/ However, the visitors went a little gung-ho in search of more and it was Luke Moore who pulled one back after 34 minutes when he beat Rob Elliot to the ball after the 'keeper had rushed to the edge of his box and Moore steered it into the unguarded goal. http://www.nufc.co.uk/page/Match/Report/ReservesReport/0,,10278~2466098,00.html 34mins - SWANSEA GOAL (1-3): The home side pull one back with a rather fortuitous goal - albeit it one finished well by Luke Moore. The pacy striker and Rob Elliot race for a 50-50 ball just outside the United box and although Elliot gets there a split-second sooner, the ball richochets off Moore and falls straight into his path. He still has a fair bit to do, with Dummett sprinting back to cover the line, but the Swans striker curls home from a narrow angle.

Lush Vlad
Elliot did come rushing off his line for the first, really quick off the mark, showed good pace to get to the edge of the box, slid in and won it but it bounced back off Moore and landed kindly for him to tap in from the edge of the box. Probably should have stayed back, as Dummet was on the cover and the angle was quite tough. Made a great save late on mind.
Cronky
I wouldn't claim to know every single member of that reserve team at Swansea, but it actually looks a bit nifty on paper. I'm not surprised they're doing well.

Guest Wearside
its the academy derby against the mackems 2moro morning, 11am kick off at little benton. Our U18's have had a terrible start to the season compared to what we are like normally, think we've only won 2 out of the first 5 or 6 games, which by our standards at U18 level is very poor. Apparently the majority of lads we are playing are just first years straight from school and our second year apprentices now play for the reserve team to get more experience. binnsy
went and watched the academy derby earlier, very enjoyable game, first half was a pretty tight affair, Sunderland probably edged the early part before NUFC got more into in and had a penalty shout midway through the half when Campbell burst through. Sunderland should probably have took the lead soon after when they had a shot cleared off the line. We took the lead when a clearance upfield dropped to Campbell, who picked the ball up in between the SAFC midfield and defence before slipping a lovely ball through for the on running McCorrigan who neatly chipped the ball past the onrushing keeper. Sunderland started the 2nd half strongly and hit the post, although credit to Baird in the goal for making a cracking save before the Adam Campbell took over as he blew away Sunderland, who had struggled to live with his pace all game, took over the game. Firstly he burst down the right hand side and crossed for Hoganson to score to score at the back post, almost from the kick off he picked the ball up again before slipping the ball through for JJ Hooper to score and then scored a fantastic goal. A Sunderland corner or free kick was cleared and Campbell picked the ball up about 15 yards from his 18 yard box, turned and then just sprinted the length of the pitch, swept past 3 or 4 defenders while the rest were left in his wake before rifling a rasping shot from about 16 yards into the net leaving the keeper no chance. 3 goals in about 5 minutes and it was game over. Thought Streete and Storey were solid at the back while slightly disappointed with the fullback, especially as both Nicholson and Riley have featured for the reserves and are better than they were today. Dennis Knight looked a decent player in the middle of the park, cracking left foot and spread the ball well. First time i've seen Hooper, big strong lad but didn't really play that well, was steady but nothing special although took his goal well.
