anybody going through on the train tonight?

Not going on the metro we're going through this afternoon on the Northern Rail train and meeting up with a couple of lads from down that way but are NUFC fans. Having to sit in their end but not too bothered about that. Just looking forward to a day on the drink and watching some football. The piss taking is a bonus.

Are you getting the train back mate? Wondered what the drill was after the match.

Lets hope we don't embarrass ourselves as usual against these fuckers.

It’s our bairns, they should win by at least 4 or more.

It’s not our reserves.

Aye it is?

Is it not the PL2 team, which is essentially the 'reserves'?

There's literally only "first team" and "U23" on nufc.co.uk though. https://www.nufc.co.uk/teams/first-team

Fuck knas!

It’s the u21’s , the bairns

Just had a more in depth look (genuinely curious at this point, none of it makes sense) and the squads are the same thing, but in the EFL Trophy they get called the U21's for some reason.  It's the reserves, or what used to be called the reserves back in the day when that was such a thing.

Aiming to get the special 18:51 Metro as doubt I’ll make it for the 18:21 one. There’s a train also at 18:48.

Curious about the train, do many use it? And are the fans escorted to the ground? Are they escorted back?

Appreciate the metros go to St. Peter’s but thought the train would be fun

Only ever got the Metro but can’t see the experience being any different as it will be just fans on it. You get an escort there and back normally. Not sure how they are treating this but was surprised to know they were doing the usual transport arrangements so I’m guessing it will include an escort also.

getting the train/metro there,  will head to central for 6.30ish,  if it's like a normal derby the police will have a queue formed and will get put on either the 18.48 train or 18.51 metro,  both will stop at St Peters and we'll get escorted upto the ground.  We've bought bus tickets so we can get the bus back as thought it would be a clart on getting back on metro if we were kept back afterwards etc

I got the metro there in 2008 for the 2-1 game and yeah St Peters is all blocked off and a escort to the ground. If St. Peter's wasn't cornered off it would be carnage as there's a 1000 or so Newcastle fans cramped in one small area with loads of baying mackems trying to get at them
