oscar
Anyone know the crack for attending academy games? Are they generally open to the public? I know u21s are, but not sure about u18s

Kaizero
On a more serious note, I'd call the box office to check the procedure for PL U18 tickets. A quick Google search shows QF tickets for the U18 FA Cup are available through the official team website – but not for any league games. I'd say that suggests a person might need approval to attend through something like being a scout, agent or similar, and the matches just not having tickets on general sale. Either that, or it’ll either be overly complicated (booking through the box office etc), or something as simple as showing up on the day and buying a ticket at the door. Not really sure why I, a foreigner, decided to attempt answering this question when this forum undoubtedly has a ton of local posters with genuine knowledge about how to attend a Academy matches... Ah well, at least I tried being helpful Edited February 22 by Kaizero
Nucasol
Michael Mills scored again for the Under 18s. Only just turned 16 this month and has 5 in 12 from midfield. Real talent who could be pushing for first team by the end of next season.
Coastie
I've heard Kuol is starting to look a player. Anyone seen him in recent academy matches?

Tsunami
Winning 3-2 at Altrincham from 2 down after 10 mins. Altrincham have just “missed” a penalty where the player stopped his run up for some reason and our keeper dived. Ref gave us a free kick. No replay shown, was really weird. GeordieDazzler
Stan beat u21s 3-0 in the senior cup semi. Very young Newcastle side against an experienced Stan team. Red card for the u21s after about 30 mins. Some great goals for the Stan. Buzzing for the Stan mind, definitely fancy going to final at SJP against Morpeth. gbandit
Has there been any noise at all about Leo Shahar? I think yesterday was the first time I’ve seen him on the bench but I might be just out of the loop

Was very highly rated at youth level I doubt he's ready to play minutes more likely thrown on the bench for experience. We need to continue to be poaching as many players as we can at academy level. GEFAFWISP
Plays for the England youth teams, there was a bit of buzz about him when he came from Wolves but not seen enough to determine anything other than he's got decent technique.

54 Posted yesterday at 12:36 Share Posted yesterday at 12:36 Quote Ahead of Newcastle United Under-19s’ participation in this year’s Dallas Cup, we take a look at the squad members who will be jetting off to the United States ahead of the club's first appearance in the competition for 22 years. Newcastle's youngsters will compete in the Gordon Jago Super Group between 13-20 April, marking their third appearance in the elite Under-19 bracket after featuring in North America's oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament back in 1998 and 2003. Anthony Gordon, Kieran Trippier and Matt Targett have all participated in the competition during the early stages of their career and United's current crop of talented youngsters will be bidding to become the first English side since Everton in 2016 to win the "Boot and Ball" trophy. Chris Moore and James Marwood's side, consisting of 19 players, will face defending champions São Paulo in their opening Group B fixture on Sunday, 13th April (kick-off 9pm BST) at the Cotton Bowl Stadium, one of the country's largest stadiums which holds over 90,000 seats. The young Magpies will then take on US outfit Lonestar SC the following day at Richland College (kick-off 8pm BST) before a clash against Mexican side Tigres UANL at the Toyota Soccer Centre on Wednesday, 16th April (kick-off 8pm BST). The winners of the three groups will advance into the semi-final stages, with the team gaining the most points who fails to finish in top spot of their respective group also booking their place in the last-four, and the cup ties will take place at the Toyota Stadium, home of MLS outfit FC Dallas. Newcastle United - Dallas Cup squad Goalkeepers: James Taylor and Tyler Jones Defenders: Aaron Epia, Jake Durrant, Henry Johnson, Jude Cogdon, Guy Bloomer, Thomas Old, Lesecond Yeutembip. Midfielders: Matthew Taylor, Alex O'Donovan, Baran Yildiz, Mason Miley, Fraser Harper, Noah Morgan. Forwards: Matheos Ferreira, Kacey Wooster, Kayden Lucas, Kyle Fitzgerald. Steve Harper, Newcastle United Academy Director, said: "The Dallas Cup is a prestigious tournament that presents our young squad with an invaluable opportunity to test themselves against top-tier international talent. “It’s a chance for our players to grow not only as footballers but as individuals, experiencing different cultures and challenges that will prepare them for future success. “Representing Newcastle United on a global stage is a proud moment for the Academy, and I’m confident our young Magpies will embrace the occasion."
