It isn’t though, he’s called up cos it’s a friendly against Grenada where almost no senior players will feature.

Cordero played 90 mins and scored the third in a 3-0 win for Cadiz today that kept them in the division. Seems he finished the loan spell better than he started.

Always forget about Cordero. Wonder who will be staying with the squad next season rather than going on loan. Neave, Park, Cordero? Who else?

I’d imagine it would be: Park, Neave, Sanusi, Cordero, Finneran, Pivas and possibly Sharar. I think we’ll sell A. Murphy.

Has Salia even played this season? Was so excited by the prospect of him.

I'd be very surprised if many of the Neave, Park, Cordero etc. age group stay next year. Think it'll be a big number of loans. They barely got any minutes this year and we'll be playing at least around 10 fewer games next season. And let's be honest, none of them have really shown in the U21s that they are ready to step straight up to the first time - a few of them have had good seasons, but none of them truly tearing it up at U21 level to the point where you'd think they'd make a contribution better than what's ahead of them (not least as you would hope((!) we'll improve the squad this summer).

100% expecting them to go out on loan. With less games and Howe having a tendency to use a core group of 14-15 players those on the outskirts will either be sold or loaned out. Ideally you're getting Neave and A. Murphy into the Championship for experience. Shahar is a funny one as at the moment we're relying on Hall as a backup RB.

Cordero might only be a given a chance until we replace Gordon, but the concern is the current review of the loans department so we need to get this together. Anthony Munda came out asking to go out on loan so maybe we see him in League 1/2.

The other aspect is if we sign any younger profile players that are coming into the first team group then you'd potentially see some of the U21 surplus to requirements.

Sadly not sure you'll get Neave into the Championship. Ideally, it's the level you want him at but fundamentally I don't think he's shown enough to get a bidder at that level (no massive knock on him - it's just the Championship team have their pick of Chelsea, Arsenal, City, United loanees) - I suspect he'll end up League One. Murphy will be an interesting one - he's probably a borderline L1/Championship loan candidate but equally I suspect in the box of 'if someone gives us a £1m we'd let him go' given his age (22 next month).

Cordero is a very tough loan candidate. His pedigree in Spain suggests he should be ripe for a good level loan (possibly Championship) but his flop at Westerlo will definitely result in 'Can he hack it in northern Europe?' questions. That then leaves us with the call of do we loan him back to Spain or put him in somewhere slightly below his level in northern Europe (ideally England). Tough one.

I’ve no idea of the talent of the guys you mention or their ages but there could be opportunities out there. We had at least five players on loan in the Championship  at the end of the season and I think Brighton and most other Prem teams had at least one or two. You’d expect it to be a player on the cusp of the first team though. Funny you mention Westerlo - we had two successful loanees there recently. Devine now at Preston, and Vuskovic at Hamburg. Both could be in the first team squad next season.

Sahar, Neave, Park and Finneran all need loans next season - Cordero too - think they all need a step up from U21s to see if they can make the leap into first team football in the next 12-18 months
