Taylor and Bassong will be back as well, so hopefully we'll not see Colo again, because I think Shearer has enough sense to realize Colo is not exactly what you would call an in form player. I'll go out on a limb and say we'll take this with an impressive win which will boost our confidence and eventually fire us to safety. 3-0 or 4-0 to us. Part of me thinks his poor form is the main reason Wise lost his job. That team should have just about enough height to deal with them and we should be leaving Owen, Martins and Guthrie/ Jonas forward at set pieces to pin them back. We need Carroll up front to have any chance, because he need his physicality against the Stoke defence, and his ability to flick on to Owen. At the end of the day, Owen can score goals. Would love to drop Martins and Owen but there aren't any other options now that Lovenkrads is injured. There is little chance that they can score in 4-4-2 formation so Shearer should gather his courage and change the formation radically to get the goals flowing again.
