He was at fault for the goal yesterday.  Amazed people can try and argue with that.

You'd have to be considering no one is disputing that.

Jayson said he did the 'right thing'.

Must have missed that one, apologies LLLO.

In all honesty, although this is unproffesional, if Harper just dived and fell to the ground after the initial contact (However small it was), the referee would have immediately stopped play for a foul on him.

Not saying he should of, like, but I'm sure some 'keepers might have done

How was Colo a bottler last season? He never bottled anything, he was just caught out by big, fast strikers like Ricardo Fuller and Ishmael Miller.

You could certainly say that Oba was a bottler (dubious injuries), that Nolan was a bottler (for hiding from the ball) or that Given was a bottler (leaving) - but how so for Colo?

tbh I just think it was really unprofessional the way that Dyer was just leaning against the post. You dont do that against a team like Barca, regardless of how good he and the rest of the team have been this season.

Right, for those having a go at Harper's position: Harper has to jump almost from standing due to where the cross is looping in from and proximity to the goal line, Varney has had a run from the 18 yard line to build speed to make his jump.

For those saying it wasn't a foul; please explain from the stills why Harper fails to keep hold of the ball. Your answer will involve Varney dragging Harper's arm away from the ball.

Ban anyone still saying it wasn't a foul, call the authorities and get them Sectioned.

Wasnt a foul, btw.

still isn't a foul, are people expecting players to jump without their arms, because shearer would of had 40-50 of his goals chalked off

Went through this yeah but he did do the right thing. The alternatives given:

Should have rushed towards the ball: He couldnt it was coming from a decent height

Should have jumped higher: He was moving backwards which isnt going to give you a strong leap

Should have been better positioned then: He was in the right place, the guy overhit the cross

Should have punched it: 8 out of 10 would catch in that situation and correctly, because theyd not be fouled

Should have tipped it over: Gifting the opposition an attacking opportunity for no reason on a simple catch

Should have lifted his knee: Best argument someone could have, again you wouldnt do that without foward momentum or youd be knocked over in a second

It was still a foul though.

That's like saying do you expect players to tackle without their legs, and if they miss the ball, c'est la vie.

His bottle went when we played the big teams. Check the results, re-read the match reports.

He struggled more against the lower sides with the bruisers up front tbh.

It should be easy to differentiate the difference between two players crossing arms & a player and goalkeeper. The players are not using their hands to collect the ball.

A better example would be if a goalkeeper pulls a players leg out of the way to collect the ball as he is going to kick it

Spot on. Ricardo Fuller, Marlon King, Ishmael Miller and Emile Heskey are good examples.

Like it did against Man U first game of the season, what utter tripe.

It was downhill for everyone & the club after that game you plonker.

For all Colocinni's faults last season, his bottle was never, ever a problem. Played more than anyone and never, ever hid.
