SUPERTOON
"If we're not being sold next week we should give Chris and Colin a go together with us lads" - words from Nolan - Am I reading between the lines too much here? Depends what your reading?
Chrisjraby
I heard the same, worrying! Let's hope Moat concludes the sale now!

steve_69
Fuck it, if we're going to perform like that every game with a depleted squad then I can think of worse options than sticking with Hughton.

Ketsbaia
After those crowd shots, I'm convinced this is happening. How could it not?? They're sitting together, laughing, celebrating and rejoicing. Ashley's gave his mate extra time to push a deal through and Moat - being a Geordie - will do everything he can to complete it. Wooohoooo
thewellander
I said it in another thread, but something lit a fire under our players' collective arses today, and I think it could be that they walked out knowing a sale was close.

ianovthetoon
will moat have the money to buy players tho he seems to have struggled to get the money The loan talked about is more than likely the overdraft that will be required to run the club on a daily basis
Guest sicko2ndbest
I cannot believe having seen Moat in between MA and DL that we are not up to page 500 already. This is the first concrete sign that something is going on , and for me it was very positive Do we not like positivity

LoveItIfWeBeatU
Ashley talking to Lambias as he shakes his hand - "See, I told you we don't need any more players, in fact, winning 3 - 0 we can obviously afford to sell a few more!" or maybe they were shaking hands on a job well done in getting us in to the Championship? midds
Based totally on the body language of the situation, I reckon these 2 will sort something out that moves the club forward. Not a clue what that might be but I think they'll compromise a bit until they're all happy with it and we'll get an announcement. Something good's in the pipeline, I can sense it. jdckelly
perhaps instead of buying it outright moat will purchase a 50% or something and invest some cash in transfers with an option to purchase the other 50% at a later date
oldtype
Wouldn't it be absolutely epic if Moat takes over this week, appoints a new manager, buys up a few players.... ...and we play worse than we did with Ashley as owner, Hughton as manager, and a paper-thin squad? LucaAltieri
I'd rather we got rid of the bad smell lingering around the place and started a fresh. After everything I don't think I'd enjoy seeing fat twat Ashley celebrating our promotion to the Premier League at some point in the future. He's clearly not honest, savvy, or honourable in any way whatsoever. I'd rather see the back of him completely.
Scribble
Knowing Ashley, there was probably some sort of kerazy wager on today's game with Moat. Maybe to sort out the sticking point on the negotiations? Regardless, I hope it gets sorted, and he buggers off.
UV
Here's my prediction; Ashely will sell a stake to Moat and they'll jointly own it, with Moat taking responsibility for the day to day running............all for a lesser fee than the £100m originally quoted. You heard it here first. Straight from the horses knackers. Aye, I can see that happening, not a bad guess Minhosa. Ashley said a long time back he'd be keen to bring in other investors to spread/share the risk. May well be what happens here now. I agree, been thinking for a while that while a takeover's not going to happen, it's a highly possible scenario that Moat could buy a stake in the club and be made the public face of the club's ownership. Are you having a giraff? I siad this back on page 2 or something. Ashley has wanted an investor from the moment he foundout he ha no clue about football and nothing has changed. That IMO will work.
