The England Thread

FWIW Man U's success over the past 19 years hasn't been predicated on 'outplaying the opposition'. Soaking up pessure, playing in the opponents half when you need a goal and taking chances.

Honestly, it's the same s*** from the same posters. I don't know what's happened to HTT (one the posters I respect most) since his kid was born, but I can only presume he's been hit on the head or he's hitting the bottle again.

Thing is Man Utd actually stop teams from playing and creating chances with this tactic though...... can you honestly say against Ukraine and Sweden we stopped them from creating chances?

As i said it doesnt matter but its something to take note of because giving those chances against better opposition will lead to elimination.

The fact Italy have Pirlo who is both a set piece and a general long range specialist should make that a worry, not a defence.

I'd also argue we got lucky in some games last season, would you not?

Pirlos a worry on set pieces for any side really. Only Melbergs header was a solid goal anyway, Swedens first was far more lucky than any goal we've scored.

Newcastle may have got lucky at times yeah. At the same time if you limit the opposition to few chances, theyll snatch at them when they finally get one.

Good player in "being a danger" shocker.

We've got a good chance. You look at Italy and don't see much to fear IMO. Likewise I can't see them going "Fuck, it's James Milner!"

We've been relatively clinical so far. We've a decent shot at getting through.

There were three Swedish players marking each other at the back post.

Which goal carried the most luck is a completely subjective and pointless argument. England in my opinion have been somewhat fortunate to be where they are, working on the glaring weakness in thie game can only help their chances of qualfying for the semis, call it constructive criticism if you will.

Speaking of hair n stuff; there's a bloke in Pickering who had skin grafted from his groin onto his hand after an accident - and now his hand grows genuine pubes.
