Guest TruToon94
So England is like Newcastle now. I don't even care anymore. Get the big names out of the f***ing team. Rooney, Gerrard and the others have to f*** off now. Should go entirely for the youth, all players under 28 and young and hungry. Experience doesn't work and never has. No more building the team around a single name either. Owen, Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney have all proven this approach is disastrous. Barkley, Sterling offer hope. Have to get rid of big names and stick entirely with youth now. At least they're hungry and Costa Rica have proven, hunger is better than so called youth. Also Roy should go. Can't be that hard for England to get a decent young manager in surely. Doesn't have to be English but has to speak English. Worse than Sven FFS. LoveItIfWeBeatU
Hopefully Hart, Gerrard and the like are dropped for the dead rubber game against Costa Rica. Give some of the players who haven't played (or have barely played) a run out.

Jordan
Hopefully Hart, Gerrard and the like are dropped for the dead rubber game against Costa Rica. Give some of the players who haven't played (or have barely played) a run out. Would only keep Sterling and Sturridge from the Uruguay starting XI. Why? he just benches Sterling 60 mins into the game every time no matter how well he plays. Just like Newcastle the problems of the team lie with the manager. Jayson
After all that talk, we'd likely have gone out drawing with Uruguay anyway.
Carlito
After all that talk, we'd likely have gone out drawing with Uruguay anyway. As soon as I saw that video yesterday with the team talking about their idols, and the pundits bigging them up I had a feeling we'd do shit against Uruguay. Pretty much like Newcastle in that we talk a decent game but never play one when it counts.

Guest TruToon94
Just heard, Roy is on three and a half a million a year! Makes you laugh, "lack of English talent". Bollocks. Costa Rica has a population half the size of London! They have fuck all talent as well. Problem is in the FA's mentality. Seems to me Keegan's the only English person who matters on the national scene with any idea of how talent is actually developed. Play for fun and let the game be the teacher. Hopefully this will prompt radical changes in the game.
Bizza
England's backward trend in the World Cup continues: 2006 - 1/4 Finals 2010 - 2nd Round 2014 - Group stage Progress.
Hanshithispantz
I don't even know what I was expecting tbh, after the season we've had it should have been fucking painfully obvious this was going to happen.

ponsaelius
The only positive is things can't probably get any worse than a 4th placed group finish next time.

ponsaelius
Probably . . . We'd have to really fuck things up to not qualify for the next Euros now they're letting every cunt in. The World Cup though...
Incognito
Defensively, we've looked vulnerable in both games. The midfield have played a major part in that. You can't blame the midfield for Jagielka ball watching on two occasions. The fact is there are three out of the back 4 who aren't good enough. ...but you can the midfield for the amount if exposure Jagielka suffered per game. When you're defence isn't good enough you need a midfield that will A) keep the ball and/or B) shield the back four. Ours was set up to do neither. Or he could just select defenders that are good enough. This isn't club football where you're restricted by budget, some more than others, where you may need to shield certain players. This is the World Cup and we have decent defenders who aren't even there. Steven Gerrard isn't a shielding type midfielder nor will he ever be, he's a playmaker whose legs aren't what they were. Jordan Henderson is a box to box bog standard midfielder who has had a good season despite previously looking average at best. Who are these quality centre backs you speak of? It's not shielding certain players either. It's just logical to select a midfield capable of keeping the ball in order to give the defence some respite. I didn't say centre backs, I said defenders. Bringing in John Terry and Ashley Cole for Jagielka and Baines would in my opinion have us sitting with at the very least 2 points. I wouldn't be so critical if he was blooding youngsters but he isn't.
biggs
nowt will change with the F.A and Gerrard will bow out having had the joy of gifting Man City the title and contributing to one of if not the worst ever showings in a finals by any captain in my lifetime (51) ,hindsight and all that bollocks starting with who he left behind Terry for instance not blessed with pace but a great reader of the game but less legs than gerrard now sadly so a non starter ,Cole would have done better than Baines imho who was woeful for the most part but that is not the issue now its moving forward and changing our mentality that has been mentioned previous and playing with a freedom but not fear that is killing us every tournament . biggs
I hope this means we don't have to continue to suffer Gerrard in an England shirt any longer. farewell performance v Costa Rica and he is captain fantastic From RAWK Thought Luis hit just the right note after the game last night - understandably ecstatic and overcome with the emotion of the occasion with his countrymen, but not crowing. Respectful, considerate of his clubmates' heartbreak. "I thought it was very classy indeed how he measured his celebrations in front of the England players; he has every right to be absolutely over the moon, smiling and fistpumping, but there was no mocking or rubbing it in. Ste broke out of the embrace 'cause he was devastated and angry with himself, and had no time for a triumphant friend's consolation, and Luis understood. It was a touching gesture both to give Ste a hug, and to walk away in a considerate restrained manner, I felt" "Hopefully they organise a last friendly at Wembley for him. That would just be awesome"
Disco
Drop him, start the cull now. Almost impossible not to qualify for Euro 2016 given the daft expansion and the utterly toss group so no reason not to bin off the shite.
