Dinho lad
The Spanish national anthem has been running in head ever since the match got started. I guess that's gonna last all night, then.
ponsaelius
Lampard is a terrific player. Just find it odd that Ron jumps to defend him/extol his virtues at every given opportunity. He's a big lad. A very big lad, in fact. He brings him up in completely unrelated discussions.
Steggy
The thing i really like about Lampard is the way he constantly takes the dogs abuse from pretty much everyone and still performs. At the start of this year people were taking him apart. Hes come out and made a fuck load of dickheads look like mega-dickheads. He's very good at just getting his head down and playing his own game rather than being affected by the hordes of mongs laying into him.
Ronaldo
The fact that the whole Lampard and Gerrard CM shitfest started at the expense of Scholes is just laughable. Nobody forced him to retire, like.
Tiresias
I think the Gerrard Lampard mess was as much to do with the lack of a player who could sit deep in midfield and pass it well and dictate pace and attacks. They didn't work great together, both really want to be going forward and want someone behind them who can spread play etc.
Guest Chubby Jason
Scholes was shit for England for years before we decided he couldn't be arsed turning up anymore. It's no one's fault but his own, he should have been out of the team all together never mind shunted onto the left.
alexf
Scholes would probably been more appreciated in this era. He is similar to the more technical spanish midfielders who are more highly rated than ever before atm. It's probably why there was a mass wankfest about scholes in his last year or 2 because the media realised we had a player similar to that style. Ronaldo
More like ridiculous hype born from a player overachieving relative to age at the end of his career.
Guest gggg
Scholes didn't really become a playmaker until after he quit International football and got more experienced /slowed down, maybe until Keane left Man U and he had to control the midfield more. He was alot more of a box to box goalscorer.
AlanSkÃrare
This result could well ruin your chances at the Euros. Expectations will be blown out of proportion as usual, courtesy of the exceptionally daft media you suffer from.

David28
Haven't watched it yesterday, did England really do well or did Spain fail to turn up? Anyways, impressive result considering Rooney wasn't there as well.

Zero
Spain just held a training session. England wanted a result with some players playing like cup finals.
Ishmael
Heh, that's harsh on Spain. They really didn't want to lose.

Zero
They really don't care much about the results, I mean the starters. Xavi, Iniesta and David Silva didn't pay much effort and got subbed very early. Those substitutes did care more as they want to secure their place in Euro12 but the likes of Torres and Cesc just continue to play without trying anything risky. In contrast Parker was full of dirt when he got subbed. No disrespect to England as they deserve the win last night, however to be honest if that's a real match, England got zero chance. Throughout the whole match England just able to build up plays on the ground twice. It's only a friendly man.
Ishmael
An important friendly that can only help our confidence and performance at the Euros.
Zero
To be fair, Lescott - Terry partnership looked very very solid, and Parker should be guaranteed a starting place. These 3 players together with Hart formed a top class defending unit which is champions' quality. If England is willing to play counter-attacking, a decent result is warranted in Euro12. What England shouldn't do is to play attacking football.
JH
If it was a competitive game, Spain would have had it won by half time. They virtually dominated.
Ishmael
Heh, that's plain rubbish. Spain may have dominated possession on the middle third, but they were limp around the area. Partly due to the excellent discipline of the England players. Of course Spain will always remain massive favourites against us in tournament enviromnent, but that friendly has shown that we have the capacity to be competitive.
