BrettNUFC
I've never understood sending a keeper up then leaving defenders back on the half way line?
CPL
Was lucky to stay on the pitch today.
Dave
Could he have done better on the pen conceded? Not seen much vitriol for him.
Interpolic
Not really IMO, good penalty and he wasn't too far away.
Dave
Nah I meant the foul.
Heron
Looking forward to seeing the penalty decision again. I too don't see the point in sending a keeper up if defenders are gonna loiter around the halfway line. Either hoy everything at them or don't... Interpolic
Oh sorry, I dunno really tbh - just seemed like one of those things to me.
Ryan_Taylor
Could he have done better on the pen conceded? Not seen much vitriol for him. Go with your hands man, Tim! Don't just kick him up in the air.
joeyt
How many penalties has he saved for us? 1? I have no confidence in him at all with penalties
LRD
How many penalties has he saved for us? 1? I have no confidence in him at all with penalties Can only remember the Lampard one.
CPL
Did shay ever save any? I always seem to remember if we conceded a penalty they would definitely convert it.
Super Duper Branko Strupar
Given saved a decent number of penalties if I remember correctly.
Wilson
It was a goal if he didn't take him down anyway, think he was trying to give us a second chance..having said that, another silly challenge. Lucky to stay on.
Hughesy
Given saved a decent number of penalties if I remember correctly. He really didn't. He was awful at saving penalties.
ponsaelius
How many penalties has he saved for us? 1? I have no confidence in him at all with penalties Can only remember the Lampard one. Blackburn away where we mugged them 0-2 and shitebulb scored last minute.
ponsaelius
He's saved 2 out of 28. http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/tim-krul/elfmeter/spieler_33027.html Given has saved 12 out of 59, pretty good. A lot better than Krul. http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/shay-given/elfmeter/spieler_3146.html
ponsaelius
7 out of 17 in shoot-outs for Given too.
Benwell Lad
Krul hasn't been great this season. Some lazy pundit came up with the line that he "saves us every game" a few weeks ago. He doesn't. He's had one exceptional game at Spurs this season but apart from that he's been no better than average. Still love the kid mind and he is the future, but there should be no complacency. Cajun
No way he should have been sent off, wasn't far off the penalty either. Probably could have done better but in the conditions I definitely don't think it was a shocker.
CPL
No way he should have been sent off, wasn't far off the penalty either. Probably could have done better but in the conditions I definitely don't think it was a shocker. He was the last man, and stopped a goal scoring opportunity. As soon as he gave the penalty I was thinking red card, like wise with the Debuchy challenge.
The College Dropout
Definitely a penalty and a red card tbh. No choice either really.
Cajun
MYM was practically standing next to him and Vydra was going away from goal. That is not a red card.
Guest firetotheworks
Given was generally crap at saving penalties. Most of those saves came all at around about the same time.
Skirge
Tim Krul committed to Newcastle United - despite Napoli reports 10 Jan 2014 08:09 Tim Krul is set to remain committed to Newcastle United – despite fresh interest from Serie A outfit Napoli Tim Krul is set to remain committed to Newcastle United – despite fresh interest from Serie A outfit Napoli. Krul is hoping to recover from a shoulder injury to face Manchester City on Sunday, but is thought to be settled on Tyneside. He has three years left to run on his contract at Newcastle, but Napoli or any other interested suitors would have to come up with a fee of at least £8m if they were to tempt him away from St James’ Park. Sources close to Krul say the classy Dutch international is eager to push for a European place with the Magpies and stay in the mind of Louis Van Gaal ahead of next summer’s World Cup with Holland, with a friendly against France now on the horizon. The Italian side are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper with Pepe Reina only on loan until the end of the season from Liverpool. Reina is not expected to stay on. Reports in Italy suggest both Napoli and AC Milan are continuing to monitor Krul’s progress, but the Dutchman is fully focused on the job in hand at Newcastle. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tim-krul-committed-newcastle-united-6489989#comments
