Tim Krul (now playing for Luton Town)

Me too, don't see the point in nursing an injured player for months then letting him go as soon as he's back. And when he's better than the alternatives by a decent margin. Quite disappointed that Krul himself wants to go back to Holland as well.

Tim's been through a lot of shit with us over the past decade and will observe we've got 3 other goalkeepers at the club and spent 4m on a new one.

I don't begrudge him this move to Holland's biggest club.

A real pity how it's ended up, a couple of years ago it looked like he'd be our top quality keeper for many, many years. Obviously our relegation has helped fuck that up, and it was almost inevitable he'd feel like his international place was under real threat.

Suspect he just wants to play top flight football and the lure of Ajax is too much.

Fairly sure this happened with Viana too when we first loaned him out. Gave him a contract extension first.

We seem to be doing it quite a bit now, did the same with Sammy and Vuckic before they went out on loan last year.

Gather it's so that if he has a good season at Ajax (and there is no automatic option to buy) we can demand a good fee for him with him being under contract til 2018. Obviously didn't work that way with Sammy or Vuckic though

Modern football club loan whereby he has to get back to his roots rather than coast here. What is not to like? His flaps as as balls sail past his hands or the inevitable kick the ball out of play every home game times (insert number here). Oh then let us not forget his pay...

He needs this loan as between him and Elliot there ain't that much distinction tbh.

From the Chron

'However, according to sources in Holland, Krul is still keen to return to Newcastle next summer and reassess the situation anyway.'
