Dokko
Lovely lad by all accounts. Really humble, down to earth and always had time for people. Amazing on his day, but keepers needed to be more than just shot stopper. Still think letting him go was the wrong decision, especially since his replacement was fucking tragic. Unbelievable
What an Unbelievable! career the lad has had. Thanks for all the great memories for club and country Tim.
Pilko
As well as being a very good goalkeeper, he was a really likeable player during an era when we had very few that were. All the best to him for whatever comes next.
BoSelecta
I met him in Morpeth once with the kids and he couldn’t have been more obliging, so much so that he recognised my laddy the following day and payed for him to get on the row boats with his pals! Unbelievable
Palermo: A certain Andy Carroll making his debut in the dying second of the stream there too. Edited September 23, 2025 by Unbelievable
Newcastle Fan
Wonderful person and a fantastic GK on his day, i was complaining for years that he needs to be called up to the dutch team and when he was finally called he picked up a serious injury and was never the same afterwards. CPL
Probably ranks as my third favourite keeper behind Given and Pope. Very likeable person and never let the team down. Obviously his debut and the Spurs game stand out as stated by others. Happy retirement Tim! Edited September 23, 2025 by CPL

enthusiast
fuckin loved tim krul - watched netherlands vs costa rica in 2014 when van gaal bought him on for the subs in a pub in amsterdam, a deeply pleasing memory. 4:40 for some shithousery from the absolute top rank (injury time during the playoff for a european spot):

Super Duper Branko Strupar
Such a shame his dip, had always hoped he'd just get even better and be with us for ages. Was a great player for us in his time though and I was made up he was able to rekindle his career with Noriwch.
Boey_Jarton
Top bloke. That Palermo debut was the stuff of legend. Used to see him regularly at David Lloyd gym in Jesmond and he was a friendly guy. I don't think our training ground even had a meaningful gym back in those days which is mental. Ogyuchu Onyewu was with him one time and his training routine seemed to involve bench pressing 100kg+. I couldn't understand how it helped him as a footballer, but there you are. The College Dropout
At a point he was a top goalkeeper. Seems a great lad to boot. Hope he’s good financially. Thanks for the memories Tim. Tottenham away, Palermo away. Some top performances. Was magnificent the season we finished 5th.
Paulinho
He was exceptional in the 11/12 season. Almost unbeatable in one-on-ones.
