Mick
I haven't posted for a while but thought I had to post these; the TV coverage doesn't do the Leazes justice. He would have loved to have seen the tributes to him from the fans, if anybody hasn't been to the ground but can then you should. It's just a pity they don't let people walk around to the Gallowgate to appreciate just how many things have been left at the Leazes by ordinary people. If anybody is thinking about signing the flag, forget it, it's fully signed up with hardly any gaps at all. All in all, it's a great tribute to a great human being. People are asking for statues and other things. Nobody will do anything better than what thousands have done up until now and I’m sure it’s only going to grow. I wouldn’t be surprised to find the whole of the lower Leazes being covered with flowers, scarves, flags, football shirts, teddies etc. I don’t think the Leazes has ever looked as good as it does today. RIP Bobby. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/5696/picture045.jpg http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/1903/picture003skk.jpg http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/8134/picture007rya.jpg http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/3364/picture008t.jpg http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/664/picture011iji.jpg http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/8033/picture013g.jpg http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/5613/picture015e.jpg http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/20/picture019qlq.jpg http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/7830/img1153y.jpg http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/5874/picture021wpq.jpg http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/7886/picture042o.jpg http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/5370/picture050j.jpg http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/7473/picture054m.jpg http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/6726/picture061q.jpg http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/3016/picture064.jpg http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/2606/picture068edv.jpg http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/2718/picture070.jpg http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/2263/picture077.jpg http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/8937/picture082o.jpg http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/5401/picture005jpe.jpg http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/8660/picture018t.jpg http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/5666/picture022yek.jpg http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/7545/picture023dzo.jpg http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/7348/picture028v.jpg http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/5462/picture038d.jpg http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/7543/picture055a.jpg

Ash
Superb pictures, Mick. Is it true that the stadium will be open next week too, rather than just tomorrow? I'd really like to come up during the week if possible.
Guest Alan Shearer 9
Must admit I welled up a bit watching that on BBC now when they showed him in his recent state, so hard to see him so ill. His humour came through well though too was always a good laugh to listen to Bobby.
Karjala
So sad seeing him in his final weeks/months, unbelievable just how quickly people can deteriorate - from picking up that award at SP07 to what we saw now. Even comparing to the start of last season at matches. RIP.
pedro111
Anyone just watch the documentary on BBC1? What a great programme that was.
JH
Cheers Mick. That looks absolutely amazing. A real tribute to such a legend. All those flowers, those messages, shirts, photos; I really think the family, when they're ready, should make a private visit to SJP just to be around that stand, to read a few cards, soak up the atmosphere - it will really hit home to them just what a loved man he was. It seems a shame that those things ever have to be moved.
Guest The Libertine
class pictures. i see someone has put a "justice for the 96" tshirt there.
binnsy
Bobby was vilified by the press all the way through his England manager's career, even early World Cup '90 after the Ireland game.He hads scandalous treatment from the English media. Why though? I suppose they all have tbh. More an indication of our press. Think the press took a dislike to him cos they wanted Brian Clough to get job instead and as a result was always fighting a battle with papers and while we were good in the 86 & 90 World cups, we didn't qualify for Euro 84 and were shocking in Euro 88 so the papers took their chance to savage the guy. Not just Bobby though they've done it to every England manager.
NEEJ
I only caught the last 20minutes or so of the tribute there, but Jesus that was strong stuff. Was in absolute bits. Genuine hero.
TêteDeMaure
Found an absolute class video of him trying to do a press conference in Portuguese. In the end he says ''CAPUT'' it's not even a portuguese word! Are you allowed to upload a video that isn't youtube?

Wallace
Thanks for the pictures Mick. Does anyone know where the huge shirt came from? Might have already been posted like. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/fans-turn-stadium-into-shrine-for-sir-bobby-1766130.html From The Independent: A groundsman at the stadium, who did not wish to be named, said: "The idea was to open the stand today and tomorrow to allow people to pay their respects but the board has decided it will go into next week. "It is hard to say how many people have been in, but we estimated there to have been 5,000 yesterday and there has been easily twice many already by noon today. "The giant football shirt had been tucked away in a corner for a couple of years. "It used to be passed round over the heads of supporters at home games. We thought it would be a nice gesture to put it out for fans to sign. "The front is covered already and people have begun signing the back."

catmag
They should put the shirt on the Angel of the North when people have finished signing it. He's our own angel now.
