Has there been any suggestion of when a public memorial might take place for him.

I am off to Cyprus on Wednesday and I shall be gutted if I miss the chance of being there

Reading this thread, watching the tributes on TV, and seeing all of the articles in newspapers  just make me cry. I never even met the man and I feel like I've lost a family member

I saw that.  I went back today as fan, rather than to interview people, with a mackem, and we put our shirts side by side.

Just got back from SJp, first time ive ever taken my son, thought it was important for him to see it. We left a card, had a good look, signed the flag, had a sit for about 20 mins just remembering the Man. I couldnt really read too many of the tributes, didnt want to break down.

Those photos are amazing Tooj.

 

It's brilliant seeing shirts of so many different clubs. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, the whole stadium could get filled all the way up to the roof it wouldn't be enough.

Just found out as well he gave a trial when he was at Ipswich to wor lasses' dad when he was 14, but her granda wouldn't let him go and told him he had to work on the shipyards in Shields. Ouch.

Wonderful seeing all those tributes. Wish i was in closer proximity to go and leave a few of my shirts with some messages.

 

Gah. There's still a part of me that can't quite believe he's actually gone. I particularly loved Jose Mourinho's comment:

 

"Bobby Robson is one of those people who never die, not so much for what he did in his career, for one victory more or less, but for what he knew to give to those who had, like me, the good fortune to know him and walk by his side."

 

That's exactly what i think aswell. I honestly think Sir Bobby Robson will be one of those men of football who will be shown over and over again until the game itself crumbles in on itself, however far into the future that will be. All the television archives of past greats; Sir Bobby's insight will be repeated over and over again. The man is simply timeless.

Some great pics. My mate just phoned me about an hour ago saying he'd been to leave one of his shirts and says there was tons of stuff from tons of different clubs abroad and that. Really nice to see for such a great man.

Been up with the bairn this afternoon, incredible amount of people queueing to get in.  Made me remember why I am rightly proud to support our club.  Fair play to those supporters of other clubs who have left tributes for a great man.

Into next week? I hope so, as I'm in Singapore but get back on Monday and really want to feel i've done something small at least. I'm missing the first month or so of the season too so i'll miss all the match tributes

 

I know it's silly as i saw him so much as manager, but it bothers me i missed his game (even though i couldnt go) and am away during all this.
