AyeDubbleYoo
The bit about him refusing to move except to a Champs League team might be true though, meaning he'll stay.
Guest Stephen927
I don't think Joey is deluded when he talks about only moving to a CL club. It speaks more of his loyalty to stay here, I think he knows himself how unlikely it is a top 4 club would come in for him. He's talking about what it would take for him to leave a club he thinks very highly of.
Ronaldo
Would link up well with Chamakh I'd imagine, similar to what he did with Carroll here. Is that a joke?
Guest
Or case of he knows he can't do much better than us but if a Champs League club does want him, brill.
Baggio
Would link up well with Chamakh I'd imagine, similar to what he did with Carroll here. His link up play with Carroll was mostly from set pieces, which Carroll played a large part in making them look good.

Cronky
For the last four months, he's been talking like someone who's just fallen out of a tree. I can't see any club of similar or greater size to us being willing to take the risk.
OzzieMandias
He won't be away until he's run down his contract, unless a CL club comes in and offers him more money than he's on at the moment. All this Twitter bollocks, demonstrating that he's still a magnet for negative headlines, will make it even less likely than it was already that a "bigger club" will come in for him. It also shafts any chance there might have been for him to come to a new agreement with us. Result: until next summer he'll continue trousering more money every week than most of us will earn in a year. We can only hope that he'll stop being disruptive in the period until he moves on a Bosman to Stoke or wherever.

He's mentioned Nolan (gone) , Enrique and Jonas as being the next to be sold off. If that's not disruptive I don't know what is. If that's captaincy material then maybe we need to re-define the meaning of captaincy.

LoveItIfWeBeatU
Video: - http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6995022,00.html Joey Barton has backed Newcastle to bolster their squad during the summer transfer window and dreams of playing in the UEFA Champions League one day. Magpies fans still smarting from the £35million sale of striker Andy Carroll in January were stung further this week when captain Kevin Nolan elected to drop down into the Championship with West Ham. Barton only has one year remaining on his current deal and has admitted he expects to leave St James' Park after the coming season with contract talks with the Magpies hierarchy having broken down. But the combative midfielder is happy with the players being linked with the Tyneside outfit, who have already snapped up Demba Ba, Sylvain Marveaux and Yohan Cabaye. Barton told Sky Sports News: "I've heard a few rumours about players getting signed and they seem to be good quality players, so if they can add to what we've already got at the football club, then so be it. "I'm employed to play football, not to make decisions about the transfer market. Let's just hope for everyone's sake they can find a few more Cheik Tiotes." Stupidity Barton has endured a troubled career on and off the field, which included a stint behind bars, but believes he is now playing some of his best football and has ambitions to test himself against the very best. "I want to play at the highest level," he admitted. "I've not been fortunate enough to play in the Champions League yet, I've played in the Uefa Cup a couple of times, but I want to test myself now. "After bouncing back and having a decent season I want to push on and make up for lost time in my career through injury or stupidity. "I'm hungry to succeed and that can't happen soon enough and it would be great if it's at Newcastle.
