Cronky
The improvement in Guthrie's performances has been unreal. He exuded confidence every time he was on the ball, released the ball at the right time and kept it when under pressure. The change seems to be between his ears. Perhaps he's been under the shadow of the more vocal characters in Nolan and Barton.
TRon
I was never Guthrie's biggest fan but he's been class this season. Suffered a bit when Cabaye was replaced by Gosling but still an outstanding midfield performance. I agree with the general opinion, he was MOTM by a distance. aussiemag
Genuinanly looks like he belongs in the midfield of a top 10 premier league side. Its funny how short some peoples memories are. Last season people never wanted to see him in a black and white shirt ever again, after his performance against West Brom at the Hawthorns. We need to have more faith in our players and support them to get the best out of them, much like Obertan and Raylor.
JH
Further put the "Guthrie = certain defeat" comments pre-Stoke game to shame. Was class again today. Three games in a row, he's close to that contract.
Geordie Ahmed
Excellent today, need to get him a contract extension asap
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
Its his emo eyeliner. It gives him powers. Powers of emotions. Powers of screamycryingshitemusic. Still, it improves his performances on the pitch.
wormy
Can only echo what people have said already in here.
ATB
Tbh, the way he is playing now Tioté better watch out. Feels good with three good midfielders. Time to try Abeid and see if we have four good central midfielders. Guthire man. You are now officially one of my new favorite players
alexf
Echo everyone else. MOTM for me as well. Takes the ball really well when surrounded by players and uses it very well. Also his fitness has drastically improved from last season.
Bele_nine
I've had many an argument defending Danny but even the lad I usually kick off with was saying how class he has been In The last 3 games. This is from a kid who thought smith was a bette player!
Guest Dontooner
Good game again today. His range of passing is certainly top notch. Do lack a bit of pace to bring the ball forward though , manage to tackle the ball on a couple of occasions but lack the extra yard to take advantage of it. Jill
Really pleased for him today. I've never been much of a fan but he's really stepped up the last few games.

Was nice to see that with our 2 first choice central midfielders out Smith still isn't near the pitch.
Dave
Excellent performance, and in with the workrate were a number of fine long passes and some neat intricate play with Ben Arfa and others.
Guest Howaythetoon
A decent performance but lets not get carried away regarding new contracts and what not. He'd actually be a good player if he had a bit more gusto to his game over an entire 90 minutes. He put in a very good defensive performance today mind, helping protect that back-four and when on the ball he looked to play it forward. Neat and tidy and disciplined I'd say. MKSC
Been pleased if not a little surprised with his last couple of games. I wasn't sure we'd see him back in the team again, he just never seemed to be good enough. But fair play to him, he's obviously worked hard and the way he is playing he deserves to get the credit. Well done Danny lad.
maybe_next_year
hes fitted in perfectly, one of the better players on the pitch today. really pleased with how well he has done the past two games.
TaylorJ_01
I have went from 'fucking shite' to 'able deputy'. It looks like he's been working on his fitness. Alas, let's not get carried away.
quayside
He's always had decent skills on the ball and an eye for a pass (and yes he's had a mare or two along the way) but to me he looks physically in far better nick than last season. Edit: I sort of agree with the post above!
DJ_NUFC
Yep, I'd have been happy to see the back of him, but he's actually been playing fucking great the last two games. Let's hope he keeps it up. Great cover for Cabaye + Tiote should they get injured or when the latter goes away to Africa in Jan.
Guest Heneage
Showed his strengths today and proved he's very calm on the ball. I think he's playing for his next contract, be it with us or somewhere else he clearly wants to sign his next deal on the back of good form. My concern with handing him a deal would be that he doesn't suffer from Viduka syndrome.
TherealnorthernTOON
The more he plays the more he seems to overtake Cabaye really. He is capable to spot those cross field passes up the wings. Aswell as working tremendously hard. Cabayes movement upfield is better though.
