AyeDubbleYoo
He flagged badly towards the end like, he was watching their midfielders run by him regularly. Good game overall though.
Mick
It's good to see Guthrie getting bigged up on MOTD.

Dave
England squad if he carries on as is? Capello doesn't come to the north east.
Smal
He should be at least considered/in the provisional squad (especially if Wilshere can't make it), but he won't. Even players like Leon Britton will get mentioned before him
Skirge
England squad if he carries on as is? Capello doesn't come to the north east. Capello doesn't know the north east exists.
Lenny
England squad if he carries on as is? I think I've underestimated how well he's playing simply because it's Guthrie. He's probably been better than Cabaye recently, and that's no criticism of Cabaye.
Guest elbee909
Nice to see RAWK still thinking he's crap. Bitter scousers.

bowlingcrofty
Would be very harsh to drop him for the Wolves game with Tiote and Cabaye back.

Guest bimpy474
Big test is next week being up against Modric, he has to stamp his game on him just like he did today against Villa.

Saying that, Guthrie still has issues about providing protection for the back-four, it's just not in his game, whereas Cabaye has much more of a motor and can put a defensive shift in. Probably why Cabaye is sacrificed for the DM role when the two play together.

Willow
The thing I like about Guthrie is the fact he always wanting the ball, he's always available to take the ball and move it forward. He spreads the ball around and is always an option for another player and as a teammate, that's what you want to see. Takes the pressure off you and lets you pass and move too. Thumbs up today

I have a feeling Pardew is going to play all 3, with Ba and Jonas either side of Cisse.

He's been here nearly four years . FFS. He was at Liverpool before us and had a couple of loans. I'm really glad he's playing as he is. I did find it quite strange how last season was such a non-event for him, he'd been such a pivotal player in the promotion season and I wasn't with these people who said he wasn't a Premier League player. Interpolic
I'd be surprised if we didn't see Pardew try Guthrie on the right when everyone's back, he'll want to fit him in somehow.
