ElDiablo
Rumours on one of their boards about that earlier as well. Apparently a very good player.

sander68
From Chronicle. It is also believed the Toon caretaker boss is now looking at £1.5m-rated Watford defender Mike Williamson to bolster his depleted squad. And there could be at least FOUR more departures before the summer transfer window shuts on September 1.
ElDiablo
http://www.shieldsgazette.com/nufc/United-weigh-up-bid-for.5555750.jp "NEWCASTLE United today clinched the loan signing of Danny Simpson - and more deals are expected to follow. The Manchester United right-back – who had a spell at Sunderland in 2007 – has joined the club until January, and will wear the No 12 jersey. And Watford's Mike Williamson is also understood to be on Newcastle's radar. A source close to the 25-year-old centre-half said: "Mike's aware of rumours linking him with Newcastle. "With the greatest respect to Watford, should this become more concrete, he would have to give it a great deal of consideration." Meanwhile, there was renewed speculation today that Joe Kinnear is pencilled in to return to St James's Park as manager."

midds
If he's that good what are Watford letting us loan him, rather than sell him to us?
ElDiablo
If he's that good what are Watford letting us loan him, rather than sell him to us? Not seen anything about us loaning Williamson. Maybe we should make a new thread or put it in the transfer thread as it is a bit confusing talking about it in here.

GG
We did that in January when we signed Williamson. Smith, Jenkins, McAnuff, Williamson. Seems like we'll have no one left at this rate.

At least you'll buy replacements... Dear God, two or three years ago we were arguing whether or not we were the "fifth most successful club in the Premier League era" Look at us now, we're getting into "my club is more hopeless than yours" arguments with Watford fans. (no offense)

Dear God, two or three years ago we were arguing whether or not we were the "fifth most successful club in the Premier League era" Look at us now, we're getting into "my club is more hopeless than yours" arguments with Watford fans. (no offense) We sold Priskin, no replacement lined up or in site. Rumour is if we sell Smith and McAnuff, the replacement is a Barnet winger who didn't impress against us the other night. If Jenkins goes, we won't get a replacement. If Williamson does, we will, because otherwise we only have two centre-backs.
