Scouting mission:

Toon watch Boyd again

Glasgow Rangers strengthened their position at the top of the SPL on Sunday following a 4-1 victory over Hibernian - with Kris Boyd among the scorers.

The 26 year-old Ayrshire-born frontman made it fourteen goals this season and also supplied two assists in front of a posse of scouts at Easter Road, which included a representative of Newcastle United.

:kasper:

Any ideas on the lottery numbers next week mate?

It seems Beckfords latest tantrum at Leeds has made Grayson willing to let Beckford go in Jan.

It looks like we are after a striker & CB in the window.

a back up left back would be nice too

We've already got a back up left back

It would be nice but I cant recall us being linked with one lately, in the main it is CBs & strikers.

understandable our back up to colo and s.taylor is kadar atm and hes promising but could we rely a 19 year old to preform on a regular basis. And shola apart none of our strikers that are our own are scoring much

How's Pedro Mendes doing up there? Think him or Sean Davis would be a good buy.

Sean Davis is at Bolton and crippled. AGAIN. No point.

I think he means Steven Davis, ex-Villa & Fulham. He always looks good when I see Rangers but then it is the SPL...

Listen to this kid as Everton have had a load of shite from SPL/Scotland: Durrant, Cleland, Ferguson, Naysmith, Gough, McFadden, Gray, Sharp...etc O0

Tbf Steven Davis has played well for Rangers in Europe like Barry Ferguson did & Ferguson is playing well at Brum this season.

I really liked Davis when he broke through (even started a thread about him way back when), Brummie liked him but thought he lost his way a bit. Might be the sort of player we need to bring in for our first season back up, ie an improvement but maybe not too long term.

If we got promoted, what would people think if we re-signed Jermaine Jenas?

*Can of worms at the ready* ;)

Don't like him but he is clearly better than anything we've got in central midfield.

Correct answer IMO.

At the time (when he left) i was his biggest critic but i can't help think he's the sort of player we need to give our midfield some much needed life.

The only reason i suggested it is because i don't see him getting back into the Spurs side next season, however i doubt he would want to come back here or most would want him back.

Last thing we need is a chicken hearted crybaby who constantly passes the ball sideways/backwards/out of the park. At least 'Arry has seen through him. There has to be a better alternative.

a player that faltters to decieve if you ask me. Looks like he is doing all the right stuff but ends up doing nothing that justifies him a place in the team. I wonder if Smith will be able to up his game to prm league standard when needed?

Even Smith has admitted he cant.

As if Jenas would ever come back here after the abuse every time we play them
