Guest je85
I'd assume so, will ask the people that do the site through twitter. EDIT: but by looking at his other pages he seems to lift his data from opta, I'd assume they have some official definition, thought it might be here http://www.optasports.com/about/news/feature-opta's-football-action-definitions.html but it's not. Ryan_Taylor
Just found this http://www.soccerbythenumbers.com/2011/07/goals-from-fast-breaks-201011-premier.html?spref=tw http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-P2RsdJ0TJTc/TjBTgryBJ2I/AAAAAAAAAtM/cLnhMNjZuE0/s400/fast+break+goals+by+team.pngp http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0WDsLfEc5bk/TjBT0priMzI/AAAAAAAAAtQ/HwEpri06jws/s400/fast+break+goal+ratio+by+team.png I should think our position in these will change drastically with the introduction of Marveux, Cabaye and Ben Arfa. Vuckic's goal from last night for ewas from a fast break come to think about it. Quick, find the picture of all the Mackems celebrating
timeEd32
It's a common term in basketball. The problem is determining when a fast break just becomes possession. Regardless, it's still interesting. Think we could be quite dangerous on the break this season, especially with someone like Erdinc added.
Guest je85
Got a definition from him "It's a counter attack. Coding a wee bit subjective, but basically: If poss. is won in defensive 1/2 & within 2 passes team is in final 1/3 and there is a shot, the pattern of play is logged as a counter attack." Fugazi
Man Utd. on the loose in NYC... A witness told us: "The team and their staff took over half the restaurant. Once the music started after dinner, they were dancing on the tables and the banquettes to the deejay. Some were wearing flapper headbands taken from the girls, masks and gangster hats. They were handed tambourines and maracas. One player even donned a fake moustache. "Then the belly dancers came out and they were mesmerized. Ryan Giggs got up and was dancing with a belly dancer on a table, the guys were laughing. They all left at around 1 a.m. They invited a few girls onto the team bus with them, and two went." oldtype
Probably going to be in London on business from September 12th-16th, which means with some luck I might be able to make Villa away and maybe even QPR away Wish there was a home game on the week of the 17th so I could take a couple days off to go up to Newcastle, but still, life is good. Segun Oluwaniyi
I'm going to do some research to make sure I am not misunderstanding it, but the format for African qualification to the 2014 World Cup seems to be completely absurd and insane. So, 10 groups of four. The winners of these groups will then advance to two-legged aggregate tie with another side to determine who gets the bid. Essentially, all of the African qualifiers will be decided in two-legged aggregate playoff matches. Even OFC, which only has half a bid has not resorted to something like this. What is the point? The games are going to be absolutely mental, though.
Yorkie
So there's the groups... then ten winners are drawn against each other in a play-off, five winning through after two legs? What's so absurd, if you don't mind me asking?

oldtype
In repentance for the recent match-fixing scandal, the K-League has selected a squad of all-stars and is having them do volunteer work for a day instead of playing an actual All-Star Game

Village Idiot
Former Barça president Josep Lluís Núñez (he was president during the Cruyff era) has been sentenced to 6 years of jail for tax evasion (not related to Barça although we were sentenced to pay a huge fine for tax evasion during his tenure). Great president, pity he's always been such a crook.

Village Idiot
True, but I don't think they can't go much farther. There really isn't that much talent available yet (and the MLS has too many teams), plus the fact the only competitive game they'll ever play outside a tournament is against Mexico doesn't help either. Ameritoon
He's taken us as far as he can, it was definitely time for a change. We definitely took a few steps backwards since the World Cup, a change should do well at this point.
