Oliver Holt man what a mororn. Apparently there's a lack of black managers in the game because of prejudice. He uses the example of Ince, people calling him lazy and a poor manager, those same people apparently think other black managers will be the same. NO, Paul Ince was a crap manger full stop. Stop mounting the moral high ground over nothing you silly little man.

Interestingly, about the lazy part. Didn't he get special dispensation as he hadn't bothered getting all his coaching badges to really be allowed to manage Blackburn? Very interesting article from Martin Samuel about the issue actually.

The Portuguese was given a rough time throughout by the home crowd as Madrid triumphed thanks to Angel Di Maria's second-half strike, and showed his frustration at the final whistle.

"It's surely because I'm good-looking, rich and a great footballer. They're jealous of me. I don't have any other explanation," he said after the game, in quotes published by Marca.

  what a t***, couldn't believe it myself that he actually said that until I saw the clip on the Spanish news.

It's true, though.

The former Racing Mechelen and Oud-Heverlee Leuven midfielder decided enough was enough and told club officials that he wanted to follow his dream and become a gay porn star.

A lack of tolerance towards homosexuality in the dressing room finally got to De Falco and he decided to cash in on his chiselled physique while he still had his looks.

The 26-year-old has given candid interviews about his naked ambitions and told the Antwerp Gazette: ' I felt more and more content with who I really was.

'I had to really go on, but after a conversation with the club, we agreed that I should leave the club earlier and I would change my life,

'The football world is not ready for gay players. There is too much prejudice and generally low tolerance.'

'Since I was 20 I have been in gay circles, but when I played soccer, nobody noticed anything. If my orientation would have been known, there would have undoubtedly problems.'

De Falco will perform under the name of Stany Falcone.

Adel Taarabt is behind me in queue for new QPR deal - Neil Warnock

Neil Warnock has told Adel Taarabt to get behind him in the queue for a new contract at Queens Park Rangers.

The 22-year-old playmaker is reported to want an improved deal after seeing the arrival of Joey Barton, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Anton Ferdinand - all established Premier League players.

But any demands will be given short shrift by his QPR manager, who believes he is more deserving of a new deal.

Warnock said: "There are plenty before him - me included!"

He added: "There are a lot of people behind the scenes who have things to say and the only way to answer things is to play on the field of play. That's what I told him to do.

"He's got no excuse now. He's got a team that are capable of giving him the ball in dangerous areas and he's got to perform."

Warnock is desperate for his players to concentrate on establishing the club in the Premier League, and has put any contract talks firmly on the backburner.

"I don't see any new contracts for anybody before Christmas," he said. "We've all got things to prove and we've got to do it consistently.

"When you've had a good game for an hour, you don't start spouting.

"You start spouting when you've got eight, nine, 10 goals coming up to Christmas."

Brazil starts 2014 football World Cup countdown

Brazil has begun its countdown for the 2014 World Cup, 1,000 days before it hosts the football tournament.

President Dilma Rousseff launched the event at a stadium in Belo Horizonte alongside the footballing legend Pele, who is Brazil's World Cup ambassador.

Ms Rousseff promised the new stadiums and other infrastructure required would be ready on time, despite major difficulties and delays.

The tournament will kick off on 12 June 2014.

Before then, Brazil must build or upgrade 12 stadiums.

Many of them are behind schedule and over budget.

At some, construction workers have been on strike - including the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro where the final will be played and the Mineirao ground in Belo Horizonte where President Rousseff started the countdown.

Building work on the new Itaquerao stadium in Sao Paulo - which is hoping to host the opening game - only began in May.

Confidence

Brazil must also deliver huge infrastructure developments such as roads and airport terminals so that fans can move between the 12 venues spread across the huge country.

Much of that transport infrastructure is anyway badly needed to meet the demands of Brazil's booming economy and expanding middle class.

"Investing in infrastructure is a way of saying no to the international crisis affecting countries in the Eurozone and the US," Ms Rousseff said.

The 2014 World Cup will be the first in South America since Argentina hosted the tournament in 1978, and the first in Brazil since 1950.

Correspondents say most Brazilians are confident they will make a success of hosting the tournament - after all, they have already won it World Cup five times.

Rio de Janeiro is also due to host the Olympic Games

in 2016.

The two tournaments are being seen as statements of Brazil's emergence as a rising global economic power of the 21st Century, much as the 2008 Beijing Olympics served as a calling card for China's confident new role on the global stage.

Can't be arsed to translate but a good article on us from across the Channel.

Newcastle still not settled

Friday, September 16, 2011 - 14:26

Newcastle moves on the lawn of Aston Villa on Saturday for the fifth day of the Premier League. Good start to the season of surprises on the other side of the Channel with a fourth place finish, the Magpies can rely in particular on the French colony recruited this summer. The Frenchies know, however, in varying degrees of success this season in Toons, while the return of Hatem Ben Arfa is expected.

At the sight of his summer recruitment is not difficult to imagine Newcastle take the place of Arsenal as a team the most Anglicized of the Premier League. Five French players (Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux, Mehdi Abeid, Demba Ba and Gabriel Obertan) have in fact been joined this "New Castle" (literal translation into French of Newcastle). But for now, hard to argue that the French court has really taken the Magpies, and the good start of the club in northern England, fourth before the fifth day of the Premier League is actually due to contribution of Frenchies.

Among the newcomers, Yohan Cabaye is the one who has really emerged as indisputable. Holder in midfield, the former Lille quickly adapted to the English game and knocks on the door of the France team in office. Landed on the last day of the transfer window, Gabriel Obertan also played the first four games of the season on his right flank. Revenge after going missing for Manchester United, the player trained in Bordeaux, already broken with the PL games, confirms exit after exit it can impose itself on the other side of the Channel. If Mehdi Abeid had to settle for reserve team for now, Demba Ba, with still no goals to his credit, did not convince, while Sylvain Marveaux has meanwhile made his debut with the Toons last week. But the former Rennes will have to make soon with competition from Hatem Ben Arfa in his post.

Injured when preparing summer sees the former Marseille slowly but surely the end of the tunnel. No way the club to rush his return after his serious injury last season. But Alan Pardew, however, is eager to have the French international. "His imagination, flair and technical advantages are sacred to us. Fingers crossed to be with us on the ground within fifteen days," dropped the Magpies manager who currently rely on the Premier League's best defense (1 goal conceded) to the top of the table squatters. Confirmation expected as early as Saturday against Aston Villa. One of the latest games without Hatem Ben Arfa, who will soon play the role of leader of the French colony of Newcastle.
