S.S.R.
The most hilarious thing is that their 10pt deduction would still leave them 9 points clear of the club in third. Sums up that league. Tactically doing it now because they've virtually conceded the title anyway.
Guest gggg
Sums up alot of leagues in Europe, including one everyone likes to wank over.

Tactically doing it now because they've virtually conceded the title anyway. Do they actually have the same points deduction there? edit: Checks out that they have 10pt deduction. BUT, they're only 4 pts behind Celtic, surely it's a smidge early to concede the title voluntarily.

Interesting piece in a recent FourFourTwo where they talk to people involved in La Liga and most of them fear it'll end up like the Scottish Premiership. Apart from a brief bit of competitiveness at the start of the last decade, it pretty much always has been.

brummie
Won't mean much to you lot, but RIP Eamon Deacy, died today aged 59. One of the 14 players we used to win the league in 1981. Never a top notch player, but the fans absolutely loved him. Was offered a new contract by Saunders with a loan somewhere else, but turned it down as he didn't want to play for anyone else outside Ireland, so went back home to run a greengrocers and play for Galway Utd. How footballers have changed with time. The bloke was a real gentleman, but was also absolute fucking nails. I once saw us play Juventus, and they had Claudio Gentile playing for them (younger readers - one of the hardest, dirtiest bastards in world football). Deacy went through Gentile like a fucking sledgehammer through glass after about 2 minutes. Sad loss.
