Guest neesy111
Aye, that's actually just the same link I've posted one post above you Yes, I was drawing attention to the Shearer video. You can tell they keep asking him about Owen because he is a friend of Owen's. apparently they fell out when shearer dropped him at the end of last season If that's true it just makes Owen look even more of a cock. He seems much more animated talking about horses than he does football. I think he'll be retired soon. I can't imagine him being willing to play for 'lesser' teams. Could see him playing for Chester of some club like. Isn't there one club he is part owner of? But I can also see him retiring. Imaging if Man Utd would be winning either of the Premier League or Champions League, than I really could see him retiring "on the peak of his successes" or sth. like that. MLS i think

Dan Gleebals
A fit and in-form Owen is a decent option on any bench. Your failing to realise none fit and in-form are a think of the past. It simply won't happen

Guest firetotheworks
It makes me feel quite at ease knowing that we're not the reason that he's generally rubbish now. More so I'm just genuinely pleased that he's been a failure for Man United. I don't usually take pleasure from people's downfall, but he's earned it. Actually a helicopter is not nearly as quick as a plane so a transatlantic trip would take far more than 7 hours! http://www.aeroworldnet.com/his.htm Michael Owen could still leave his mark in the world as the first civilian to make a non-stop transatlantic flight in helicopter! hakka
I don't think Owen will go. I think Capello has quite clearly suggested that he will only consider Owen if he plays regularly and also scores goals. He hasn't played enough and he hasn't scored enough imo. He did well against Wolfsburg and his goal against Man City was hyped up because of the situation. That's all I can recall Owen doing of note this year really. He shouldn't have gone to Man Utd. Did he really think that he was going to over take Rooney and Berbatov as first team striker? - What a fool if so. Should have gone to a mid-table club where he would have been given the games each week. I don't want him at the World Cup. I'd pick from Rooney, Defoe, Crouch, Bent, Agbonlahor, Cole or Zamora before considering Owen. How many Crouch got this year? just checked and it looks like he hasn't scored many despite getting a number of games in? bit worrying. At least Crouch does win things in the air and is good at laying the ball on. His international scoring record is very good too.

Neil
tonight changes nothing. It changes everything. There must be a space for a declining striker who specialises in slowly running about for 20 minutes at the end of the game and occassionally pop up with an impressively scuffed shot that trickles into the net for a goal that means nothing in the context of the game. Should have gone to a mid-table club where he would have been given the games each week. That is his arrogance though - probably thought being a bit part player at Man Utd, with added european appearances would be better for his profile/England chances than playing domestically every week (injuries permitting) for a mid-table team. Don't think he ever expected to start every game/displace Rooney or Berb, but he'd have thought being sub there would be enough. Happily, it seem's not. Guest Stephen927
I think the plan for him was to have a quality manager try and turn his career round. It hasn't happened at all for him, and he isn't helped by the fact that when he does get a chance to be that supersub for them, he fails to make an impact. When you look at his England record, it's a shame he had those injuries cos the Michael Owen of 5 years ago would be most welcome in the squad.
