I'd be amazed if there is anyone willing so spend that much, in the current economic climate.

New TV deal and future TV deals would be well worth it, a packed stadium and some better brand association would ring it in nicely.

He tried to sell the club for £100m back in 2009 after initially putting us up for sale for £400m during the latter part of 2008. He took us "off the market" the same day we lost 1-5 to Liverpool under Kinnear - then put us back up when we went down.

It's happend again and again. I remember listening to the M&A consultant (Keith Harris?) in charge of selling the club back then. Sounded so difficult with Ashley. I think it would prove the same again.

Unless Barry Moat has won the lottery.

Surely it's always been the case that if someone gave him all his cash back he'd be off?  He seemed to quite quickly realise he'd made a mistake.

Why would someone buy us for that much when they could buy any other bottom half premier league club for a fraction of the price and do exactly what they were planning to do with us with it?

How much would it cost to upgrade/build a new stadium like ours? Then they have to make sure they can fill it.

Big exclusive from @Independent claiming Mike Ashley is ready to sell #NUFC for £267M. In other words, he wants a full investment return.

A sold out SJP with everyone paying a bit more than 5.000£. Would actually be very possible.

If only we'd won that last match against Arsenal the frigging staff could have bought the club off him.

Missed opportunity. :'(
