Whether or not he can get what we all want remains to be seen. He now has to put the pressure on to sign these players, not roll out the same old excuses that players are not interested or available. All Pardew has ever done is say what he knows the people want to hear at first, then it doesnt happen he has to edit his opinion. He knows what will calm the fans so he says it. He's a bullshitter, he has a way with words. When supporters were concerned about Carroll, Nolan, Enrique, Barton, signing strikers and players by certain dates and the Carroll money, Pardew comes out and says what keeps everyone happy or at least quiet. It's like on football manager when you're holding a press conference and you just tick the option that keeps everyone quiet and at bay. He leads the supporters on to keep them calm. There are millions of social media consultants out there that would give a couple of hours training on twitter for a decent price, and surely the club has communications people that understand twitter (maybe!).
